In most Role Playing Games the Player can choose a Gender for the main Protagonist to customize and eventually play, but what Gender of Character do you normally choose?

With me? Yeah, I normally choose Female Characters, which is quite normal for any of us men  :teethhappy:

One, I don't have Gender Dysphoria, two, that was a joke, and three, the majority of female characters in RPGs probably are male

Yes, most female characters are played by man because RPG games are mostly played by male population and because some girls play male characters.

Precisely, so in terms it can be classed a norm

It's not a norm, players mostly choose female characters to add some variety to their gaming experience, because playing same type of characters over and over again can be boring.

What do you mean by Norm?
Fact that RPG games lack female playerbase so its logical that female characters are played by male players?

It's a Social Norm when it comes to most RPGs

I think you used wrong term:
Social norms are group-held beliefs about how members should behave in a given context
(for example: when someone says 'hi' to you,you replay by saying 'hi' to him).

EDIT:
I think you was referring to socially acceptable behavior,
and yes it is socially acceptable for RPG games that man play female characters.
