Virtual Reality is almost on our doorstep, and it's called Oculus VR.

As an avid gamer on a wide variety of different platforms I find this very exciting. While it might not be true VR, it definitely is a step in the right direction. Quite a few developers have jumped on this bandwagon, ID software(Quake, Doom) and Valve(Team Fortress) are just a few to be named. And I have a sneaking suspicion that Blizzard are also joining the forces that are guiding this marvel of gaming technology, as they have just recently scraped a not-so-secret project called Titan, claiming that they wanted to take the project in a new direction with new technology.

A big plus for this is the cost and availability to us, the consumer. It's using the lastest tech to combat latency so that where ever you look there is little or no lag. And it boasts a 130° view field instead of the current 50°- 90°.

But having said that, you don't have to believe me. Watch the video for yourself and make your own assumptions.

I hope that WG see this and jump at this opportunity, I'd love to play tanks with this piece of gear.

Bring on the future!

This VR things came up already like 15 years ago, but because of bad resolution and being heavy it never had success, it wasn't accepted.

On the other side, i loved my sidewinder force feedback joystick ... but because mouse + keyboard is the way howmost games are played....

Old VR was/is crap no doubt.

But this is on another level. It's taken away all the old problems that previously plagued the older model's.

The bad resolution is now not more an issue. The Version of the Oculus, that was shown on the E3 has an Full-HD-Display. I think, the consumer Variant will have these or something better.

I already got a headache when i only think on these goggles.  :teethhappy:

However, nice idea.

But it will heavily depend on how many game studios are actually willing to adjust their games for this thing. If the content is not there, i doubt many people will buy this gear.

Aaand thats exactly what they said for all the "old" (now crappy) products too.

Seriously I ´d love to see TrackIR support in WoT, it´s established, works like charm.
I use it in IL2, IFL1944, LFS... and it addresses most of the VR needs without hassle.

But... we all know how likely that is.
