Should there be always a reward for the top 3 players of both teams?

  1. Fully YES! The Operation Citadel special proved it to be a great rule. It would make the game even more fun to play! (344 votes [94.25%])

This weekend's special was a great succes! All I see is happy players talking enthousiastically about it. :smile:

This poll is all about bringing the following mission (or something alike) implemented into the normal gameplay:

Quote

For every random battle you play, if you are one of the top three damage dealers on your team (whether your teams wins or loses), you’ll be rewarded with 30% extra credits!

Hell no, introduce a biased reward which has no absolute undoubtedly link to how useful in battle you really where, and one which excludes certain vehicle type's.

How about changing it to include assisted damage so spotting and tracking is rewarded, or wait.. how about basing it on experience awarded so that literally everyone who plays well can have a chance even those who end up in a higher tier match, don't do a lot of damage but still try to play their role actively?

Loose the bias, reward good play.

Basically yes. But damage as only indicator is not good. If you for example play scout you can be most important player of your team without beeing in Top3 of damage.

Maybe like that:

damage dealt + damage on detection

I could even think of a bit more complex formula including tracking, kills or whatever.

So, should it be linked to the players who achieve the greatest XP?
This could work, but it's harder for some people to see what they are aiming for.
Maybe the rewards can change each week....damage, spotting etc

I would change it to reward Top 3 XP earners of each team.

Good suggestions are brought up here. Indeed, if WG decides to bring a reward system into the normal gameplay for the top 3, the discussion will be what it's based upon. The amount of XP would be even a better measure I think.

Would be absolutely great, but for it to be permanent, WG will probably change the percentage.

1st damage dealer: 20%
2nd damage dealer: 15%
3rd damage dealer:10%


I believe this is somewhat close to what they would add; or they would keep 30% but only reward the 1st dmg dealer.


  A base  XP based reward would be better tho, instead of damage done, because, as Schnudi said, scouts can be more important to the team than many heavies, but they won't get the reward because they simply cannot do so much damage. And now TDs and arty get no XP penalty so I don't see any flaws with that.

Good example of this idea being useful to me were my battles yesterday. I really did my best, but my teams just kept failing on me:

Battles: 24
Win Rate: 37.50%
Adjusted avg. tier: 8.1
Average damage: 2,029
Average experience: 769
Performance Rating: 1,719
Efficiency Rating: 1,568
WN7 Rating: 1,375

I didn't push -1 but your proposal would cause a similar problem.

If I play a light tank (e.g. WZ131) I don't even have to do too much to get great experience. In a T10 tank, you maybe need to do 5k damage to get as many Exp as scouts on a good/average round.

We all know how annoying it is to have a fantastic game - only to end up top of the losing team. This special introduced a great way of reducing  that downer.

But it raises a few points first:
1. This was a special. Would WG be willing to give away so many credits every day. I think not
2. The winning team already gets more credits for winning and they feel pretty good about winning anyway. Do they 'need' an additional boost. Perhaps not.
3. In my team I always like a load of good damage dealers and some effective players doing equally important but more specialist work. Scouting, cap defence etc. They are all vital and all need rewarding.


So my suggestion is that a reward system is put in place permanently:
1. For the losing team only
2. For two top players in two catagories. 1. The top damage dealer and  2. the top damage by spotting.
If the same player gets both top scores, he deserves both rewards combined.

XP earned is not a viable measure imho, dmg is better.
I had 13-90 sniping off people in tier 10 game just to try and get that bonus (not like he can do enough dmg anyway), when asked to SPOT he was like FU! I WANT 30% MORE $! -.-
Honestly, i think they should put bonuses 2 times a week, Saturday-Sunday-Monday + Wednesday. Mid week madness + weekend special. It's easier to get the bonus on weekends when there is more cassuals (not saying that mid-week is all skill though :P), but Wednesday should have greater rewards, mainly because people will probably play no more than 2-3 hours (work and all) and it lasts for just one day

Too much bonus to have running all the time. Wouldn't surprise me to see something similar added in to the specials every couple of week.
This was my evening yesterday, I must have come in top 3 damage dealers in 75% of those games, plus a top gun or two. The amount of credits I made was just a joke, a nice joke though.

Says a guy with average efficiency and a 49% WR in almost 20k games. I bet you don't agree with the reward since you don't seem to be a top 3 player.

The reward was great. I had so much fun playing this week-end. But perhaps the player who got the most experience could also be rewarded. For example the top 3 damage dealers could get more credits (since they fired more shots and spent money on ammo) and the top 1 exp player could get a bonus to his experience.

Just a suggestion. The reward system is great. Pls add it to the game.
