Hi all,

As many others here i am grinding for the T71 and just unlocked the T21.
Originally i was planning to skip the T21 with some free xp i saved up plus some converted xp.
Before you start haulering at the screen because i want to free xp my way up please let me explain why,
I have not to much time on my hands due to my job and company, i play WoT to chill, have a good time and relief some tension, so i realy don't want to be bothered by playing tanks i am going to hate.
(i invite you to take a look at my profile to assure yourself this is not my habbit to free-xp around except for maybe Tier 2-3 and that i know what i'm doing when playing this game)

But instead of free-xp-ing my way up blindly i wanted to get some info on wether i should or not, i would need 65k free xp and everybody knows how long it takes to gather that much.
So i went to the forum and now i'm even more confused because it's 50/50, one side screams that the T21 should be burned like the witch she is while other praise it to heaven.

So instead of just asking; "is T21 stronk tenk?" cause that would have the same effect i would like to ask how it compared to the M7.
I absolutely LOVE my M7! one of my most fun tanks to play! so if T21 is similar to that i would probably go for it.

Here is a screen of my M7 stats for your convenience:

I would also like to ask for some general tips for a T6 light tank since i never played one before, i played and liked the ELC alot but that one plays more like world's most annoying and sneaky TD
so i figured that those experiences won't help me much.

Thanks for your time reading this and maybe replying.

IMO T21 is similar to AMX12t (I mean playing style). Got worse gun without loader, but is faster and more maneuverability. Many players think it is a shit, but IMO is passable.

I really like my T21.

Compared to M7... well it's kind of a similar tank. It has great speed for it's tier, amaizing gun, with fast reload, and it's spinning circles like a maniac.
I always played as a passive scout using binocs, sometimes shooting on the beggining of each battle, but after a while I changed T21 into medium tank -> flanking, spamming opponents. What's different is the matchmaking. With T21 you can be thrown into tier X battle, uh being 1 shooted by E-100 isn't much of a fun. So yes, the playstyle is almost the same and tank isn't worth spending free exp. Tier X battles are hard, but on tier VII - VIII it's giving you a lot of epicness in gameplay I quess. ;)

i was crappy with the M7 and had good result with the T21 until a series of bad rows, unlocked the T71 and going with it.
T21 is a good support/passive scout, good rate of fire but overall, it s sub par to a chaffee.

2 worlds and 3 leagues above the pitiful 59-16, too different to the AMX 12t to compare, no idea about the German scouts.

I'd play it.  You have a light tank with the same gun as the same tier Meds  - what's not to like?

They only reason I don't give it so much time is that it isn't the Chaffee but I'm happy to gradually work towards the T71.  (about 26k to go iirc)/

Agree with VeryRisky, the gun helps to make it easier.  I've taken out ferdinands etc by getting in good positions.  (I'm not a good light driver by the way)

Use your free xp to fully upgrade it then grind to the next level, I was grinding even the basic modules and believe me when I say its painful.

It flanks / circles like a boss...
Avoid scouting early on & wait for the proper moment to flank isolated/busy tanks later on.
My last two games: torched Lowe from 75%, -500 hp from Tiger 2, killed 40% hp T30   :bajan:
You liked M7, you'll like T21 for sure.

So i went ahead on bought myself the T21 because of your advices.

I only played 3 battles in it so far and that was enough for me to notice that i realy like the tank.
But my first games were so rubbish  :teethhappy:

First game i don't want to mention, 2nd game was on the new Sacred Valley map so i didn't know where i had some good spotting spots, played that map before but never with a light tank so that ended with me being ambushed by someone who got to the nice spots first.
My 3rd game was the best till now where i realy tried to give in to how the tank feels, and got myself a nice bush on malinovka, got a scout medal and almost 3k spotting damage, but my oh so itchy trigger-finger :playing:  got me killed  :hiding:
(damn you Tiger flank!  Y U LOOK SO TASTY!?)

My overall first Impresion:
Got 0 kills as for now, 0% survival rate after 3 battles and only 2nd class mastery badge.  :hiding:
BUT, i realy like the T21 already.
what got me killed the first 2 battles is simply my M7 experiences, i realy expected the T21 to be a larger M7 and in many regards it is that way but i have to play a whole new playstyle (to me).
With the M7 only having Medium t5 mm i could apply daredevil tactics and even when it all went wrong the enemy's guns wheren't so big that i couldn't get away with it.
If i try the same thing in the T21 i get multiple high-caliber guns in my face instantly.
So i already noticed i have to discard my highly aggresive playstyle and be far more passive and wait for the right moment to try to do some damage, wich is a nice challenge for me, especially trigger-finger...
I also see that the tank has a lot of room to improve upon for me, as in specialised crew and more experience with such tanks for myself to perform better.

I want to thank anyone who recommended this tank to me, even with my first 3 battles being complete horrid rubbish i am having alot of fun with it and i have already noticed what i have to
change to make more out of it.

Cya on the battlefield!

few days ago, i've killed a JG Tiger from almost full HP. He didn't have the best gun, so i've let him punch me once, park behind it and started shooting. Some 30 sec later.. he was dead. Drove me some 50m behind the starting position.
T28 Prototype? Just be patient... he WILL turn the side and once he does it... well.. game over dude. Track& damage for the win.

It is a nice tank but would get you in a trouble much faster than any other tank i've driven. The camo is not that great (around 90% on all crew), and wihout the 6-th sense.. a bit of pain, but once you get hold on - it is a very good scout to play. So different from the others like frenchies and t50 family.

I'm playing the t21 at the moment and gotta say it can definitely have it's moments, if you just wait for the enemies to be occupied with heavier tanks on your team I've noticed that alot of the enemies tend to underestimate the t21.

Very team/map dependant, not a game changer. Not enjoying it.

Hated it when I first got it but now I don't mind it so much. Have to say I am not a light tank player much more TD and HT oriented but played properly the T21 can do a job. Like they say you will get scout match making so be prepared for a lot of bush camping and passive spotting but the gun can damage most tanks you come across just not always frontally you will need to target weak spots, sides, shoot from above etc

With the latest patches I take an advanced scouting position wait and spot the enemy and then when the engagement starts and the enemy is focussed on my team mates in proper tanks I  track everything I can see and when spotted get the hell out of Dodge. There's nothing wrong with the tank but I think the T71 is a better flanker due to the autoloader and the T21 is more a scout machine.

How I hate it. Almost every game in T9 or T10 battles. I'am really looking forward to T71. This will be a big, big upgrade.

In my WZ131 MM puts me into similar matches all the time and it's just 10 times better in every single way...

One of the worst tanks known to man IMO. The gun is really inadequate, and the tank itself is quite large. I much prefer the AMX 12t over this one

Considering it very often lands in T10 fights, it competes in "scouting" with Bat Chats and other top mediums. That usually sucks for T21 as it got no that HP pool to do an error.

IT doesn't compete with Bat Chats in scouting, as when you see them in the rooster, you just drive a bush closer to your heavies and wait for bats to light up. You're still light tank with the smaller silouethe (still rather large), nice cammo rating and if you stand still in a bush, with all checkpoints on tank hidden, BC can drive 90-100m away and still you don't light up. Until now, BCs are toast as the whole team fires before they can scout them (you're doing spotting dmg), and after the first pass, they're mostly now have one BC killed and one crippled on 1/2 HP and i assure you it won't make another pass. Then you can move a bit forward..
You're right about the fact that you just can't make an error in those games, but you also can't make an error driving a T8 heavy in T10 games, as the result would be same - killed in no time.. oneshoted or not.

Its hard to drive T21 without 6-th sense.. very hard and painfull, but after that it becomes nice passive scout and a hell of a annoyance on the battlefield.

Wel... it won't. If you don't learn yo drive T21, you'll be one of those crazy T71 drivers that die in the first 10 seconds of the match... making absolutely no use of their tanks. It plays differently from WZ in almost all aspects.

Feels a bit like an E8 with harsh, nasty MM, constantly being thrown into T9 games. Rather play the E8 to be honest.

Just got it, plays fine so far. I tend to use it as an passive scout, like a worse version of the chaffee.
