Steel=Iron ore and carbon.
RHA steel=Steel and Alloy elements. Aluminium, molybedenum, magnesium, vanadium and so on
The most important one, is molybedenum. This hardens the steel, but also strenghtens it. It doesnt make it very brittle

Germanies only source of this, and others, was located in norway, and it got destroyed in 1943 by allied fighter-bombers. The germans tried to solve this by adding larger amount of carbon and vanadium. This made the steel hard, but also very very VERY brittle. Brittle steel issent strong steel. It is also terrible to weld. And the weldings dont last long
A good example is the PZIV. Its armour was in theory sufficient to withstand the Shermans 75mm gun at 450meters. But the Sherman could in normandy, easily penetrate the 80mm frontal hull armour at ranges up to 700-800 meters.

My favorite comparison, in WoT, is the B2 (captured B1-Bis) vs the PzIV. If the B2 faces a stock PzIV, which is a (basically) April/May 1940 tank, the PzIV is in serious problems. Otoh, if it's a late model PzIV, with the long 75 and extra armour, then it's the B2's turn to be in trouble...

So basicly german steel WAS much more better. And i thought that all the about german steel quality meant about the welding tecniuque, not the steel itself...

I dont know much about french tanks but this is what i expect: correct me if im wrong

they will be small and rather bad armored, but they should have precise high rof high penetration guns? So their dps should be like us tanks or better?

What about gun depression? I'm guessing something in between american and german depression?

What about shell travel time? If i read correctly the french had a thing for high velocity guns, is it realistic to expect fastest shells in the game?

All in all, if im somewhat correct i think i will like french tanks a lot the sooner they come the better
