Hi all,

I started this one 'cause I was getting sick of it....

People, your heavy tank is not a tank destroyer, so please don't rush all over the map thinking you can handle the shit xD

Huh? So, TDs should rush all over the map? I always thought they were built to ambush hostile tanks... Damn, played them all wrong so far it seems!  :amazed:

OP, your TD is not a light tank, so you shouldn't rush with it, even less than with a Heavy! Btw, heavy tanks ARE designed to lead the attack. TDs are NOT.

I get that, but still, they rush too much and die too soon because they rush, we all should ambush, and some should attack, if the light tanks could do the last and the heavy and TD's would give covering fire, that would be more fun though

I find the opposite. Most of the games I see the heavies think they're TD's taking up the best sniping spots in or around base whilst the enemy heavies push, take out our meds and the few heavies that went to fight and then come and wipe out the rest of our team.

If you try pushing ahead in tog you will not get far in the battle. Big target, little speed.

TD has half the HP of heavy tank... > and weaker side armor ...

it's the purpuse of heavy tank to take damage/ (in this game)

Eh... Heavys are made to break though areas. Ofc some people just die with in 3 seconds, but it's better to see a heavy breakthough the defences (Or defend a falnk) that camping in a corner

You have to look at some artillery drivers who use their artillery like a heavy tank.

I think i understand what the OP means.
The amount of heavy tanks that take up "strategic" positions (aka camping) which are mainly for tank destroyers, and not going to positions which are for heavy tanks (flanks for example) leaving TD's those positions which are not really viable due to half the td's in game not having good armour or bad manouverability and bad view ranges (mainly soviet), makes life difficult for TD drivers because they lose their advantage of ambush/support if they are all mixed in with heavies on a hill or a road.

I have a great replay of this in campanova where (twice, either side of the map) heavy tanks decided not to go to the hill even though it was requested by myself, leaving (on the north side of the map) 3 td's going up there (2 hellcats and an SU-100Y) covering that flank, and on the southern side a T20 and my SU-100Y covering the woods on the right flank.

Northern spawn game we lost, not because we lost the hill (we did and still had no help from our heavies) but because being about the only tank left (note SU-100Y) and having flanked all the way down through the woods, i was taken out by a td and medium tank (our arty was totally useless even though i spotted both), 5 kills in that game....

Southern spawn point wasnt much better, the T20 was a star and spotted pretty much all their team (he ended up with over 4k spotting damage and patrol duty), 2 kills for me in that game covering him and his tank was a bit battered at the end....

In both cases virtually no heavy tank moved or if it did it rolled out across the open field   and usually ended up dead.

Really there are just not many good heavy tank drivers, sad to say but its totally true, WG need to put some better tutorials up on what the roles are of each tank, all that armour and you get heavies hiding behind rocks and shooting with a .46 accuracy gun at 400m when the tank is a close range brawler.... oh well  :sceptic:

It gets really annoying when you're in a camo td, 704, Dmax and a heavy sits right next to you.

Nah, thats not the most annoying thing, its when he runs into you first putting you off your aim, then moves in front of you to take the shot you were going to take, gets spotted and all the rounds come flying in and he then moves out of your way and you cop some of the hits  :sceptic:

Or sits behind you firing. You take their hits. The really bad thing though is they don't have a clue they're doing anything wrong. Just sit behind you telling you to STFU and l2p.

Or they push you out of a bush so they can hide in it if a tank 2 teirs lower than them starts rolling their way.
