Had you been going with us, we'd stop for a closer look. :D Me and my friend were there the summer of -08, but we were halting at Omaha beach.

I remember coming across a tiger in normandy so we stopped crawled all over it, then stood on the rear deck and using camera angles took photos as if we were sticking our heads out of the cupola oh what larks.

Reminds me of driving through Italy on a school trip when I saw a rarity.
They all thought I was mad as I was babbling OMG a schwimmwagon over and over.

I'd rule out T40 from the start,  as the project was terminated in 1942... If any T40's have survived, they probably all are in US

Well the tac markings (blue over red withy the white 76 on it)) look very Royal Artillery-ish and thats a 25ber gun.

Not sure what the 'C' sign is just above it - might be the individual gun indicator (C-sub, 76 Battery??).

Aha - found it

And a bit of information about 76 bty

76 Battery was In 1857, in the absence of the Battery Commander, Second Captain Francis Cornwallis Maude was in command of 3 Coy, 8 Bn Royal Artillery in Ceylon. Unofficially the Coy was called "Maude’s Battery".
