Table of efficiency rating values

less than 600 Bad players (~ 6%) Dark red colour
600 - 900 Players below average (-25%) Orange colour
900-1200 Average players (~ 43%) Yellow colour
1200-1500 Good players (~ 22%) Green colour
1500-1800 Great players (~ 3%) Blue colour
more 1800 Unicums (~ 0,5%) Purple colour

The numbers are:

Number of battles
Efficiency
Win rate

The colours are a shorthand for skill assessment, ranging from red (worst) through orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple (best).

The point is to give you a quick reference as to how good an individual player is.

If your XVM is configured to show efficiency, you probably want to change that to WN6, which will give you a better guide.

The 5k number is the amount of matches that player have played. The 931 number is efficiency and 48% number is the winrate.

The scale above is out of date.
This is the latest version

It's your XVM config that determines the limits of the color and you can change those and the colors if you like.

As above change to wn6. Even if my epeen is at UNICUM  efficiency, wn6 IMO is better at gauging how dangerous your opponent is.

And the colour of the tank presents players wn7 (of course not numbers, just colours). I've got pretty same xvm config as this one.

Really, the colours are arbitrary anyway.  From your perspective it's probably best to leave them as they are rather than worry about the thresholds.

And change to showing WN6.

WN will give you a better idea how dangerous an enemy player is going to be in a fight, because it's drawn from combat specific stats (because they have the biggest impact on winning).

open your config in this editor http://www.koreanran...r/XVMEditor.swf and go to the color 2 tab on the left and then go to the dynamic color by efficiency(xvm-stat only) and there you can change the colors and limits.

When you are happy about it save it and replace your config (make a backup of the old config in just in case) and it should work.

And how do i chance it to wn6/7 (same i thought) and will changing to wn6 and change the colors effect global win chance?

The editor linked above has the option to change the colours to WN6, as well as a bunch of other stuff.

Go to Tab, Loading and Players Panel 2 and wherever you see {{c:xwn}} or {{c:xeff}} change them to {{c:wn}}
If you're having trouble, you can have my config file if you like:
http://www.2shared.c...nMnoNI/xvm.html
Basically its very much the same as Quickybaby's only I use WN6 ratings instead of the Efficiency he uses (efficiency isn't as good as WN rating) and my colours are the ones listed here: http://wotlabs.net/
I also use over target (tank) markers that show you straight up how good the team-mate or enemy is that you can see based on the XWN (1-100) scale. Replace the xvm.xc file in your Worldoftanks/res_mods/xvm with it. Remember to move the xvm.xc file out first in case you don't like mine, though I'm sure you will!

No offense meant to you personally pascalham, but this is perfect example of XVM misuse: Someone who has absolutely no idea what it does or how it works decides to use it because 'the good players do'... I mean, you don't even know what the numbers represent (well you do now hopefully) yet you want to use a MOD that shows you those numbers. Why?

Don't make the same mistake most seem to make: Just use the ratings as a general reference but keep them to yourself. Understand how they are calculated and understand the limitations that come with them. And don't quit the game at start because you don't like the odds. There's too many of those around already.

You can personalise XVM

The colours i use worst>best are red, yellow, pink, light blue, dark blue, white

In the Tab screen i show #battles, Eff, WN6, WR%

I find that the comparison of EFF > WN6 > WR% provides a lot more insight than just looking at one of them in isolation
