I abolutely love the Lorri! No matter how desperate a Situation you're in or how crappie your tank might be - the Lorri in the opposite Team gives you some free credits! Something you can rely on. You just have to hit it before your teammates do.

But I rage sold mine after a few games.

Its worst medium on tier. Of course it has its moments but its not very often.
AMX 50 100 is better in my opinion. Lower profile, better armor, same gun with slightly longer reload, better elevation, better MM cause lower tier, same turn speed and is still pretty damn fast. Lorraine has better, incredible acceleration, but its not AMX 13 and you lose lot of speed on turning.
T54E1 wrecks Lorraine before it can shoot 6 shots.
Problem with Lorraine is that it was nerfed several times when it was tier VIII, and when it jumped to IX past nerfs were still present. And are. So we get bad camo and smaller than historical gun depression.
Many people dont like fact that instead of AMX 13 with better gun we get giant cow that is sniper or support, doing both jobs average at best.
Lorraine is worst medium stat-wise on noobmeter.com, not without reason.

Tho there are many unicum hipsters that say this tank is fine etc. you just need pr0 sk1llZ.Its to show their professional progamererism skills

True, I really dont get why they feel the need to makes changes to tanks like the E75,E50 when its clear the Lorr needs some love more urgently.

I never played the Lorr40 when it was a tier 9 tank, since I got the Lorr40 last saterday.
.
Up to that point the only compareable tank I had was the amx50 100. Since it looks rather the same and has the same gun, I expected a very similair tank in the Lorraine. The weight allowance allowed me to mount the top gun and radio right away. At the first battle I was pleasantly suprised how fast this tank accelerates to its top speed. The reload was quicker too: Where my amx50100 needs 48sec to reload a full clip, the Lorraine only required 38sec.
.
So far so good.
.
The Lorr40 is just a faster playing style over the amx50100, but its definately not a good front line fighter. Like all french, its made of paper mache, and once your clip runs empty its better to safely reload at the back. Therefore I snipe, support, relocate, and hide to reload. I only "come out" when the match is down to a few tanks and I'm about to hunt down or flank a few isolated targets. This way the Lorr40 can really shine, and be a good asset to a team. However, this means that if your team camps, so do you. A support tank should try to avoid going out and overstretching its position.  :sceptic:
.
I'd even go against popular opinion and say that this tank is pretty good. Just dont use for anything else its intended for, and the grind to batchat is a tad smoother. Matchmaker and random players might make it difficult to try and fit in to a team tho.
.
[EDIT]
I would suggest some buffs tho:
- More traverse. It cant even circle a heavy with a turning circle like this.
- Slight aimtime buff. Long aimtime on a paper tank is just asking for trouble. With the matchmaker that loves to put Lorr40's in tier X matches, ask yourself who gets a good aimed shot off first: You in the Lorr40, or the IS7/E100 staring at you? (Hint: Lorr40 is one big weakspot).

I stupidly sold my Type 59 to make space for this POS in the garage. I've been one shot in it more times than I can remember and I've not had it long. I've had to completely change the style play; stay back and try to snipe rather than trying to make a gap for the heavies. Any shot to the side, regardless of what it comes from, is liable to kill you.

Trading a Type 59 for a Lorri is probably the worst deal one ever made on any wot Server - by far.

It was a special sort of awesome when it was introduced.

after a couple of nerfs it was broken
then it got moved ti tier 9 while not beeing un-nerfed which was horrible
then 8.6 hit and it recieved an indirect accuracy buff thanks to it and it's now sort of playable.

7 crit in a single shot taken= aimer+ loader+ ammo rack +gun+ tracks+ engine+ fuel tanks+fire i didtn use the fire extinguisher game was over for me... problem is that the shot was from a 38 na...
This tank need aim time reduced and gun depression improved a LOT when you cant aim an ennemies because it is like 1 meter above or below you its ridiculous...
The instant I get batchat I throw this one to the garbage bin it should never have left.
This tank is a catastrophy... its weak cumbersome for a medium so big slow to aim slow turret + bad depression + long reload+slow shooting+its a crit machine
I can have good game but good gaem in lorraine = retarded ennemies

gun depression on french tanks is not in their vocabulary :P and trust me worse days are upon you when you realize how non existent is on bc for both elevation and depression, the first 100 games will be totally educational:P

Halfway on my Lorr40 grind now, at 122 games. WR is steady at 54%, 1800ish average damage, at 1400ish WN6. I've had worse in other tier 9 mediums and I dont really see any problems with this tank if you use it correctly in a snipe & support role. Always make sure to have an "exit route" to retreat and reload. When you do go out alone, any mistakes in such an unarmored tank will probably costs you your life.

I really feel that reaching succes on this tank is critical as it teaches a player the hard but required lessons to properly drive a batchat.

I would tell its a good support tank if it was accurate but I prefer a KV2 with 152 in tier 10 as a support than a lorraine...that how accurate this tank is for me even fully aimed I  barrely hit more than half my clip beyond 200m
my global win is 55% my win in lorraine is 48% and its full since the start

Ok i read your opinions and i dont think you played Lorr after 8.6. It was one of my favourite tanks and i admit that after nerfes were delivered to frenchies it became crap and i sold it... but after 8.6 i rebought it instantly hoping that the patch will fix the tank and it did fix it. The lorr is again a badass tank. Now it often happens that i do 3 - 6k dmg in a game. I dunno maybe it is a hard tank to play but it is fun to play and kill T9 tanks with one clip :P And im not going to buy Bat bcause i prefer my Lorr that is at least a chalange to play...but is not UP... and 1 on 1 no tier 9 med ( probably e50 has the biggest chance) can win with this thing....

Here is my best match in the lorraine from a few days ago. Its a pretty good tank if you keep it ranged, and use its speed to constantly relocate. I tend to fire mine from as far away as possible, because it gets spotted really fast, and everything aims at it. I dont have sixth sense on it, which I reckon would help alot. The only problem I have found after grinding it for the last week is its bloody awful stock. Still going to sell it as soon as I've finished leveling it though.

dont play lorraine as a medium, or as a heavy.. or as a light... or as a td...

its well a Lorraine its big its soft and everyone is gunning for you so stay out of sight and out of mind and she will serve you well in times of desperation you can throw her straight into the enemy lines and se how all of them aim for your squishness potentially saving a valuable tier 10 tank.

I hate my Lorrie. It's too big, it's too fragile, it's got horrible accuracy and everyone on earth knows how long the reload between magazines is.

I hate, despise, curse this Lorraine 40T of fecal matter. Armor, accuracy, damage, aiming time, and even penetration are damned bad. Don't get fooled by the PEN values, remember it's a mean number. You'll only get the lowest value, and since you'll have to shoot from afar and even farther than normal tank ( to avoid detection and if you wanna be alive and useful for your team until enemy has low HP), so you lose PEN due to range. Then game mechanics will downgrade even more your PEN, because enemy has a brain and a proper armor tank, he will angle his tank, thus ricochet, bounce, whatever ensue ! 4X french tank curse should be a legend known fact now.(Amx40, Somua40, Lorraine40 and arguably the ARL44 )
