Hello guys.

Parola Armour museum is proud to present:

Stug III in Finland 70 years!

Event will take place at 14.9.2013 starting at 10.00 near armoured brigade in "vanha Sotilaskoti". There will be few presentations of Stug III (production and differences caused by production, changes in Finland during service history, service history in Finland) and few matters that will be showed with live Stugs (general layout, operation and maintenance, ammunition, weapons and optics, tank equipment and tools, assault gun crew clothing and personal equipment)

Unfortenately event will be mostly held in Finnish, but if you ask nicely, maybe experts will make short overview of topics in English.

Event will cost you 55€ and 50 if member of armour guild. If you wish to participate this event, please make contact to Armour Museum office (toimisto@panssarikilta.fi). Also mention where you got information on event.

Official event info can be found at:

Only in Finnish, sorry guys

See you in the event!

Expensive is relative...

Now you'd have a chance to discuss with experts on matter face to face.

And to be noted:

This is special event. Normal entry fee to Parola is 7€ but you're not allowed to climb on tanks nor to study them with experts.

I don't think Munster even has event such as this...

Good timing :-D
Sunday, 1.9. is the "Stahl auf der Heide 2013"-event in Munster("Steel on the heath", named after the region "Luneburger Heath" where it takes place).
Nine tanks will be moved, eleven tanks are opend for further inspection. Experts will be there to answer questions.
And the nicest, it's for free (55 euros, madness ..) ;-)

Good thing that Munster has similar events and Munster is able to organize events with smaller entry fees.

But this is getting to museums policies and I will not get into that matter any deeply since I don't know does Munster get any support from industry and goverment. Parola doesn't get anything and that's why Parola has to collect some additional fees from events like this.

And it sort of wonders me that you guys obviously are not even thinking of coming and yet you complain about entry fees. What do you gain with that? Just wondering. Isn't it good that I even bother to bring this event up?

Wow, that's expensive. I'm afraid me and my friend won't join for that price (we have some troubles of our own already). Otherwise it would have been a nice little tour.

Darn, I cant get there, because Im in my last days in the service. 18.09.2013 and I'm going home. Well, atleast there is a StugIII here in Hamina , sitting outside just 100meters where Im staying at night for now, and it's free for all to climb, but Im not sure can anyone get inside anymore, because some fools trapped themselves there a while ago or something. http://www.nortfort..../foto_f6_e.html

Some update.

I've heard little bidrs whispering, that some of participants can acutally hand crank Stug running with inertia starter. And you still think this is expensive..?

As mentioned earlier, there will be ALOT of info about Stug III available...

Hello all
I have been to the Parola and I can honestly say it is well worth the visit if you're a tank nut like me.
They have some really rare examples such as T-28 (roughly 502 made) and quite rare these days.
Also T-50 considering there are only (so its said) 2 complete examples of the T-50 remaining. I would say its a go and the staff are really nice and friendly.
They explain the histories of their tanks from captivity and how the Finnish army used various techniques to capture them.
Very interesting stuff
Kind Regards All
