Use the 85mm gun and play it like a scout. Move fast and don't fight in the open. Use cover and maneuvers and don't allow other tanks to hit you at all. You are pretty fast and dangerous with the 85mm gun so use this advantages.

U don`t have to play only as scout... T-28 with big gun is really powerfull between other tanks. Try to snipe enemies or rush to find and finish aty :)

The big gun is nice and has good damage for its tier. However don't get hit with it, it has paper armor. I suggest tagging along with some heavier armor and shoot targets engaged with them. It's a decent tank but personally I hated the armor on it ;)

Good advice above, I still have mine and can safely say that it's probably my favourite tank.
My crew are almost maxed out in skills, and the tank is elite, with the 85mm gun, best engine tracks radio etc.
It's a great anti scout tank, great in support of main battle tanks, and also very good for sniping, particularly with maxed out gunner, I always spend some cash on training at least the gunner when I get a new tank.
Definately try to avoid getting hit though as it has a high profile and is easy to damage, but you should get a lot of kills with that gun on board, the turret has a nice fast rotation too, also nice.

I was horrified with this tenk in first few set-ups..no good targeting   slow Aim    crapy armor (I mean Leopard has 2x better) and its almoust bigger than any Heavy etc..etc

Thats his main downside..no possible amBUSH position or behind obstacle stalk..allways visible and clumsy.

And still I LOVE long-pipe with HE charge...1 shot-1 kill and its cheap to repair and reload.

Very strange tank :D

I have kept the T28 i have since i got it as its fun tank to play the game with.
When you are in a medium match this tank can easily own the game.
In one game i had 7 kills with it using the 85mm gun.
Advice.........get the 85mm gun as its the best one for it, bar none.
Train all your tankers to 100% and also train them ALL first on REPAIRS once you reach 100%...this means if you are hit you arent sitting still for too long and can usually make a speedy getaway.
Its a great tank but armour not too good but this is made up for by its speed and hitting power.
use the terrain to shield its bulk and make good use of the speed. Many times i have circled a prey at speed and nailed them with the 85mm. The reload on this gun is very quick by the way after training.
Also get the module that makes your reload quicker and the one that makes you target quicker.......you wont regret it.
This tank is a bit of a money earner too and thats why i have kept it.

I also have a T44 and T43 and SU5, but get most fun out of the T28.

Depends a little. What's your playstyle? I used mine with the 85mm, rammer, binoculars and camo net. It's a great but fragile sniper

I usually use the maximum range of my cannon because I get kiled with 1~5 shots

I think T-28 is too slow and too big. I do not want to use it, but I must to use it.

I had it for weeks long, each battle gave me 50-100 experience, even though I had it Elite, except from the KV research, you should play it as a wingman of the bigger tanks, just drive behind the bigger tanks, and when they are in battle you go sniping.

Awful, awful tank. I can't wait to get to the KV, and a real tank for once. This 'tank' has paper armour and a massive profile that just screams "shoot me". While other tanks can survive direct hits from my guns, I'm toast at the first sign of a scratch. To make matters worse, you often don't even get a chance to see where the killing shot comes from, because of the demented spotting system.

If any tank makes me rage, it is this one. Do not keep it, sell it at the first opportunity, and play a real tank with a real chance.

I'm, personally, just going to try and finish it off ASAP and get to the KV. Grind tank, in my opinion, but I'll probably get the turret, guns, etc. (the opposite of what I did in Beta)

But be grateful, after driving this mixture of sheets you'll be driving the beast of the fifth tier.

So far I've played 16 battles with it and 14 of them ended in defeat. I'm so fucking sick of losing in this tank already it's not even funny. The thing was even more horrible than I remembered.

Yes, same here. I actually had fond memories of this tank and the 85mm gun, but that was made easier by a lot of free XP I had stored up. This time it's proving to be a nightmare to slog through!

It's tolerable if the balance does not include ludicrous numbers of M4A2E4s, but otherwise I often feel next to useless. My stats for this tank sadly reflect this, and though it will probably improve over time, it's a frustrating experience.

Been driving it for about 20 battles now and I think its horrible. Doesn't suit my style at all.

BTW, calling the armor paper is an insult to paper. Grinding this pos to the KV is frustrating as hell. Or maybe I just don't use it right...

Awful tank and extremely painful grind. All tier IV tanks are like that: M3 Lee, A-20...
