"I often notice localization bugs when I play in my native language."
You could use one more option here, something like: "I play on English even if that is not my native language"

"When playing in my native language I don’t like to see new content in English."
Same option here.

Because if my native language is not English and i play under English language, none answer on this questions would be correct.

Otherwise great poll :)

game looks horrible in my native language(dutch), not only are the translations often wrong, even if they are correct the dutch terms sound rather stupid, especially since Im used to playing games in english since i was like 6 years old.
edit: I use the english version.

I play the game in Dutch and I rarely encountered such an horrible translation. Guess it is just an Google translate copy paste. Well i could play the game in english but it is set to dutch now and i keep it that way for the time being.

In Serbian it is fine, but due to Serbian grammar, i saw a lot of words and names that are not correct, or that are misspelled. These are minor errors, but it would be nice to fix them :)

There are some HUGE mistakes in the Bulgarian localization. Don't know who did them, but if he's a WG employee - fire him immediately.

Lets talk about localization and how in the latest patch WG couldn't even be bothered to get someone from the UK to do voice overs for the crew voices, they put in an american voice over for the crews which is frankly INSULTING and CONTINUES to prove WG have no interest in the British tech tree and continues to insult us or prove their laziness or just incompetence.

Localization is not just about having the game in a different language, its also about have the common decency to get that language in the correct accent to make it authentic.

You would put in the Russian voices made by a non Russian translator with a bad accent would they, no they would not.

Please get this sorted. Lets stop the persecution of the British players as its becoming an embarrassment to the company and the EU server community teams

While I agree that localisation is a good idea for many non English speaking nations, general chat in the main forum is English as a common base for all talk. I think this should be maintained in the games as well to facilitate better team communication.

Ideally translation software could assist this much more?

The hungarian translation is getting worse and worse with every release. Please hire a better translator than Google Translate. Or find volunteers. Even I would volunteer to help with the translation, but the current one has so many problems that even my cat screams when it sees it and it can't even read -.-"

The problem, in my opinion, with localizations is that it encourages people to use their native language in chat as well. After all, the software on their screen is in their language, so using it in chat is fine, right...?

Well, no. Chat is practically useless as it usually consists of about five different languages, most of which are not compatible. I can't understand them, they couldn't understand my native language if I bothered using that either. In my opinion, chat should be in English, the common language of the internet. To promote that, it would be best if the game client were in English as well.

For clarity, I am not a native English speaker, nor do I live in an English speaking country. I just hate it when people have no regard for others who do not understand them.

Agree with Orcwin. Localization is positively bad for gameplay. Suggestion: spellcheck chat serverside, and if it's totally unrecognizable as English don't send it to other players. If it continues, block chat outright. Still doesn't solve the problem of people unable to read English, but that's partially because some players can't read at all.

Hmm...

Localization on Finnish language is some what ok, but in some ways just terrible. Terminology is way off for tank troops, at least to one who has served in armoured troops and for this reason alone, I don't play with Finnish language setting.

I would like to help you guys with Finnish localization. Let's put it this way, I have some good contacts to experts on armoured troops. Only trouble is: I don't speak programming code...

I think some sort of a translator would be a really good idea, i think one key problem is also non english speaking players either dont know how or cant be bothered to go to their own language channel in general chat obviously this causes allot of problems and even more flaming

and the poll is about the game instead of about forum.

I am not native english, but do understand most basic english.

But english speaking people do use a lot of english which is hard to understand.

I don´t know who wrote the questions in the poll, but i don´t understand all of them.

what is ment with:´ I often notice localization bugs when I play in my native language.´

when you play the game, there are no options for language settings, are there?

It is important that the ingame chat is used in english - but the young kids from greece or whatever country won´t understand that.

I prefer that you  divide the game in groups according to age, rather then according language.
