Oh well, lemme get my catalogue, you want a loltractor or rather a Maus?

...seriously, how would someone know? You need to know what type (size etc) , if it has to run and so on.

You are talking about real tank? If you are talking about tank in game why is hard to use standard calculator.

500k what?

It depends. It costs 500K if you want it for the looks and if you want it to have it legally. However , if you want it to be real like in WW2, you won't be allowed to make or use one, so money doesn't even matter.

Here is a T-55 for 44k US dollars, or you can buy amphibious arty for bit more then 22k US dollars.
You can change the price to euro if you want, i am to lazy for that.
ps: in Russia it is legal to own a tank as long as the gun is rendered useless. Of course you can't drive it on public roads, just on your property :)

Buy one here for 40k USD and then restore it. If you just want a non-functional display tank I guess you should plan for some 10k USD if you want to drive around in one you might need a lot more. If you want to invade your neighbors yard with it you might need to add some cost for a good lawyer.

It would depend on how accurate you would want it to be. If it's just looks you are after 500k € might see you through. However if it's about recreating the interior and exact mechanical details the cost would go up massively.

I seem to recall finding some article of about 6-10 years old now probably about owning a fully functional tank in america. Demilitarised (gun not functioning etc) it's not overly complicated there, but if you want to keep it functional it isn't impossible and you had to fill in a crapload of forms. Also every single shell had to be registered as a "destructive device" (expensive procedure for every single shot) or something along the likes of that. (Oh yea and any originally american vehicle is still considered state property and can be "called back into service" at any time as it may be required, so don't get yourself an american tank there! :D)

Sillyness like that aside, I reckon that in most european countries it wouldn't be possible to own one privately as a road legal vehicle with a functioning gun. Hell even to get it road legal in a demilitarised state might be tricky depending on the country you're in. For private terrain usage though it should be doable I guess?

@OP
Your question is a bit vague:
500k? what currency?
You did explicitly state "build one", do you want it fully functional? If so it'll probably take a fair bit of expertise and resources but if you just want the aesthetics of the external with or without the ability to drive it it shouldn't be too bad relatively speaking. But full weight with historically accurate armour thickness could make it pretty expensive material wise and probably a hard time to be allowed to use it anywhere that isn't your territory and needing special licenses to transport it over roads etc with some specialised vehicle.

Mostly just guessing though as I never looked into such overly expensive things I don't have the money for :). But I do know that getting self built vehicles licensed for road use tends to be a tricky thing in most countries.

You can see so many bad google translation so why not to ask because its a bit strange when someone want to build a tank. But guy who really want to build it will never ask this on game forum when he have a lot forums about renovation old stuff and modeling new stuff. In his nick is nuber 97 so this is probably his year of birth what explain how he writing.

"genius"

Hello there baba_ti97
Depends what a lot of companies do today is adapt FV434's and FV432's (which are very cheap these days if you get one with the Roll's 2 stroke diesel pack) to Pz.i4's as the gear box is in the same place.
This is relatively cheap method rather than building from scratch, but this depends whether you're good with cutting gear and a welder and lifting gear  :great:
Kind Regards

P.s I will move this topic to off topic to enable the conversation to continue

Isn't EDFrancis001 in the tank restoration and recovery business? I seem to recall a thread about recovering a Tortoise which was half buried and had been used as target prcatice since the 50s.

With a functioning gun it's rather impossible.
As far as registering a tank as a road vehicle - it's technically possible (in Poland at least). If the tank meets required condiditions it can be permitted for road use.I don't know exact rules, but I suspect most heavy tanks would not be permitted, because of large ground pressure.
It's certainly possible to drive wheeled APCs.
