definitly a good medium tank. I do get a lot of tier 8 battles but its not a big problem. I use the 57mm with some gold ammo and it works fine against tier 8s. Its like beating someone to death with a spoon but it does the job.

This vehicle is not that bad. It may not have a punch, but it certainly is fast and agile. Also your role is not to win the battle on its own. It is a support vehcile and you should only engage targets you know, you can pen. Play it like a vulture and harass the enemy. When they have less vehicles, than this thing shines. You can circle your enemies and just drive them crazy. Although not the best vehicle around, still it is pretty managable and fun.

I can't get the hang of this thing. Despite rather decent EFF, I'm struggling to maintain it at the perfectly average 50% WR.

On one hand, unlike the T-34 or T-34-85, it can actually circle even Tier 8s to death, provided they are alone (almost wiped out a KT this way, but I was rudely interrupted by a KV-1S and a SU-100...).

This is my most successful match so far in it:
http://wotreplays.co...fedaykin89-a-43

Due to its very high mobility, I run it with Optics. Recently it feels somewhat more adequate at scouting stuff, now that Camo skill is near 100%.
Yet still, I don't feel like this thing can carry games. It can't bounce anything, so you die VERY easily. A KV-1S having the luck of his life snapshotting you from 300+ meters most of the times means your game is ruined.

Also, the gun is trollish, to say the least. One game you can fire on the move from 400+ meters and hit your target with every shot, others you blatantly miss shot after shot standing still, fully aimed.
Of course, this is clearly not a sniper tank, but a flanker. Yet for a flanker, it dies way too easily.

This tank is poo.

In a game where heavy tanks dominate you get to drive a very fragile and fast tank with t6 firepower. This tank just screams HIDE FFS!!!

It's use is situational at best, even more so against t7/8. It reminds me greatly of a time long gone when i started this game and had to play through the A-20.

Circling a heavy enemy tank which for some reason is driving in the open without support is a rare thing. 2 shots and you are toast.

Almost done grinding it to the next medium...God knows why I bother. This game is mostly about heavy tanks and TD's.

Eventho it's poo, i appreciate it's mobility enough as not to mind the grind as much. And, yes it will bounce shots at freaky moments extending your life for another 5 to 10 seconds, You will also play the occasional blinder when every variable is favourable. Not enough to keep it tho. Will definitly flog it when done.

I actually like the A-43 better than the Cromwell. But that's probably a personal preference. The tank is as slippery as a greased eel. I'm starting to lose count of the times I've managed to slip away from a fight that has turned against me with only a fraction of my health left only to return later and finish off a couple of low hp tanks.I much prefer the T34-85 (it's my favourite tank). But sometimes, you can do things in the A-43 that you would never be able to do with the slower T34-85.

Maybe medium tanks aren't for you...

Played 5 games with this thing now, and all I want to do is remove wot and throw my pc out of the window. It's frustrating to play. People say it's similar in play style to the Cromwell, well hell, it most certainly is not. Where Cromwell was a real delight to play (even against tier 8's), all this thing does is infuriate me.
-
5 games, 5 lost. 5x tier 8, total 1 kill, 300dmg per battle with 20 shots + each. I'd rather play the amx 40 again over this thing. T-34-85 on the hand is a charm, a real beast of a medium tank for it's tier. This particular tank belongs at tier 5 and not 6, that's for sure.
-
I tried to focus on the tier 6 tanks in my battles, but half my shots simply don't pen, even with premium shells I'm having a lot of trouble. On top of that spamming these is a no go. 2k per shell (with 30% discount) for a lousy 100 damage.
Unless you some kind of masochist I can only advice you to take the t-34-85 route and spare yourself the trouble. Or use free xp to get to the tier 7.
-
And yes, only 5 games so far, and I already know I'm never going to play more games than necessary to get 1 single win with this thing for the xp multiplier, and only on x3 or x5 exp specials.
-
ps. Yes I'm mad. :(
-
-
Edit: First win after 12 games!

Only played a handful of matches but early impressions are that it is a really fun tank to drive.

I have found this can circle enemies with slow turrets nice and tight and eventually kill then as long as they don't have any backup as you won't survive many hits.

I'm in no way used to it or found a method of use, best to me or the team.

Just got the upgraded tracks and damn that traverse speed is godly! Can whizz around even some mediums with this thing, really liking it though tier 8 games can be quite brutal.

^Yeah, you can circle in it.

But so can a Cromwell. And IMO a Cromwell beats the A-43 outright, since the crap gun depression can make you miss an awful lot of shots

Though i never played Cromwell, i feel safer with A-43 when peeking around the corners or small hills. While it has shitty gun depression, turret is much smaller and kinda roundish where Cromwell has this huge box on top.

You know what I like about the A-43? The huge cupola, or rather the fact that the huge cupola have 120 mm armor on it. It's always funny when someone keep aiming for it instead of your hull/turret front and bounce round after round.

The tank is pretty ok. The 1st day was a nightmere but that was only a terrible fail streak. I did "ok" but not enough to carry the terrible tier 8 teams I had.
Today was much better and avg dmg, kills and spots are all fine. Winrate is still a bit low due to yesterday. The pen of the 76mm gun could be better but enough for flanking.

I forgot to mention one annoying thing: Module damage on every hit. Especially engine, ammo rack and driver.

it prepares you for the  horrible  A-44 and O416 where you will get engine damage every second hit and crew kills to no end (not to mention fires).

^There's a difference, both of them, in comparison with A-43, can safely shoot from a good distance and have pretty big chances to penetrate

Mediocre tank at best. Poor gun depression and low DPM (with 76mm) are the most annoying features. I can't think of any tier VI medium tank, that was less fun to play.

Loved this tank, it can scout (mounted it with optics gld and rammer) or be a med depending on the game. Even got 5 Lehvaslaiho’s medals in it (out of the 10 total I have of those). Also, the dpm is quite nice (2.1k dpm with the 76 mm) is pretty good for a tier 6, combined with an excellent accuracy on the move, so you can easily circle enemies or stand still in a bush and shoot at full aim within 1 or 2 seconds.

I really liked it, too bad that the grind was over before it really even started! Only thing that annoyed me about it was that in tier 8 games you "get" to shoot excessive amounts of premium.
