Please could someone explain to me how my skill got patched?

http://www.noobmeter...ie79/508719176/

This isn't just some bad days play, this is 100+ battles over the past week.

Look at my graphs, all steadily rising until 8.8, and then they start to crash.

Im all ears to your rational and constructive thoughts

New patch - WG sends an email with a friendly reminder there is some new stuff - all the zombies that usualy don't play this game because even their dead brains are already telling them they suck at WoT start the game again and suck as usual... but in large numbers.

Give it some time and everything will get back in order.

Average damage went up, average kills went down over last 128 games, WN7 was below your usual score, which was average anyway.

So maybe you just weren't killing off tanks you should have been, they survive and continue to make kills and do damage to your team?

You killed less, did less dmg, less exp, won less and had higher av. tier.
What did you expect ?

I would blame the improved targeting. I mean it does depend on your style and i just cant be bothered with analyzing it, but my first conclusion would be: its not you getting worse, its the others getting better (stats wise).

I felt it in my TDs: before 8.8 i could trade with a soviet heavies- if i kept respectable distance i was pretty safe, i had to change my tactics, cause in 8.8 they became much more dangerous.
Other factor might be the arty nerf. If your tactics were depending on your arty teammates, now you have to do wihtout it.

First two things i could think of. A gameplay since 8.8 changed a lot, maybe you need to evolve into it.

It is a very human and natural thing to think and feel that luck should have a uniform distribution. It does not. Streaks happen, both in nature and in World of Tanks.

I noticed the same thing. Most of all I found a huge difference in number of hits on enemy tanks. It is bizarre how I went from being not too bad, slightly above average at handling my tanks, to utter failtard who cant hit the broadside of a barn at point blank range.
This happens with almost all my tanks, but take my trusty S-35 CA for instance. Had a win rate of 60%+ and really carried my team even when surrounded by tomatoes.
Now ...?I painful 11.11% win rate on sept 17 for instance, where I had game after game when I simply did not hit anything regardless of distance. Never mind dinging anyone. I did not even hit.
It became bizarre like when I fired 10 shots at a M7 at 100 meters range. All missed. The same yesterday. But now a bit wiser (i.e. WG has set my hit rate to 0) I started ramming and pushing lighter enemy tanks down cliffs and into water. I even acted as scout in order to help my team in some capacity. In a S35CA!!! And managed to squeeze a win that way.
Yeah. As a mathematics nerd and programmer I know RNGs, and I haven't done a stringent analysis, but my gut feeling says this RNG behaviour is highly improbable. Given the choice between postulating an extreme RNG series, or a fault (bug or intentional) at WG's end, Occams Razor says it is most likely the latter.

Mine took a dive when I started playing artillery and tier IX Conqueror. So i'm not sure if it's that or the 8.8. Artillery was before 8.8 and the Conqueror was right around the time of the 8.8. Have had four bad days now so...well, I don't know.

Or you are suffering from 8.8 lag and it's causing your client to desync slightly (it is predictive) making you miss?

Missions has altered behaviours - you are being beaten to the kills. New maps which you are not as familiar with.

Just conjecture - helps convince me that I'm just as good as I was before anyway.

I haven't done anything different as far as I can tell, sure I have played 10 games in my semi-stock tier 9, but I'm not convinced that it would drop my stats by almost a 1/4 when compared to my previous 1000 battles.

For me, looks like you start to play on higher tier, but you did not prepared for it, for example stock tanks....
Additionally, in the last days there are HUGE amount of players, which shows something......
Yesterday I first time see during the business week, in the early evening, both EU servers to have more them 100K players each, logged in..... Usually EU1 is on 100K, EU2 is between 30K-40K ( yep, there is no traffic balancing).

Avg tier last 1000 battles: 5.22

Avg tier last 7 days: 5.14

All tanks fully researched except t9

I enjoy the low and middle tiers as much as the higher ones, so will start at my tier 2 and play up to my top tier, then rinse and repeat.

Have had my kv4 for a good while, have never found it any harder to play than the other tiers, and whilst the standard of opposition increases slightly, so does the standard of your team.

If I was struggling with the progression of the tiers, the curves on my graphs would progressively decline, rather than incline until patch day.

Survival rate for last 1000 battles: 37.85%

I haven't just decided to start suiciding since patch day.  Like the rest of my stats, there was a gradual improvement, taking my average from around 29% up to over 32%
