We at Wargaming Europe are proudly launching our first cooperation with a charity foundation. We invite you to check out the charity labelled packages in our gift shop and to help us support their important work.
Full news text
Update:
We are happy and proud to announce that the funds raised through the charity packages from the Gift Shop over the last week will be donated by Wargaming to War Child UK.
As a game developer and publisher, Wargaming.net has had the fortune of being very successful because of your – our community’s – support. However, in the real world of armoured conflict, war is not a game and the effects on children are devastating.
War Child UK is a charity that is directly helping children affected by the atrocities of armed conflict around the world. We believe their work is of crucial importance and we are grateful that so many of you have helped us to raise funds to support their programs.
In the near future you will be hearing more from us on War Child and their activities. We hope we will be able to count on your continued support for War Child in the future.

It's really nice to see WG support War Child but why this sudden tendency than every single package has to include credits? For 50 euros you can get yourself a T-34-3 and some premium account and grind that 4,5 million in two or three days...

I would have bought a package to support War Child if you replaced credits by something else.

Supporting Warchild by blowing each other's heads off? Sounds legit. Sign me up!
Players have long been asking for us to work with a charity organisation. With Warchild people can't start petty claims about supporting a single nation. It also avoids people getting in silly arguments about who did what in a particular war, or who was right/wrong.
If you disagree with the choice of charity, you're free at any time to dip into your own pocket and donate to any other charity of your choice. If you wish to donate to Warchild but don't want to purchase one of our packages because you don't like the content, you can donate via their website here - http://www.warchild.org.uk/

I will support warchild but not with the offers.

and please please wg stop throwing the Tetrarch tank at us with these "offers"

I wanted a tetrarch but you cannot buy it as you have removed it from sale never to return apparantly.

Then you did a magazine offer including a tetrarch I bought it for £10 did I get the tank no because thats for new accounts only strike 1 WG
Then a while ago you had an expensive tank offer with guess what a free tetrarch.
Now you have another high priced offer with guess what a tetrarch.

I don't mind that I cannot have one but stop rubbing in my face by saying oh look spend a shedload of money and we will give you a free tetrarch.

That I resent

Really good initiative WG, i'm actually sort of proud of you guys now.

to bad though those packs don't contain anything i need/want in particular atm(don't need credits or gold still got about 300 days prem and still have my tet from back when it was a new years present) though but appart from that it's a really nice idea.

I get the sarcasm, it's more the fact that when we do something like this, people still attack it. Comments like that are like food for hungry trolls looking for somewhere to set up.

Kudo's Wargaming! (I would +1 but I'm out for the day).

There have been threads asking for this indeed and I think you have found a very respectable cause. During the 15 year anniversary I had gotten enough good deals for the rest of the year but I think this one is very worthy and I'll take you guys up on this one.

This is a bit...weak WarGaming.
You see, if you really care about charities then make some cheap gifts, not something between 20-100 euros.
Humble Bundle is doing it right! You can pay as much as you want and you can send your money where you want. Oh, and guess what, just on the Humble Bundle EA sale they gathered 10milions dolars. Why? Because the games were cheap, affordable.
If you're selling expensive stuff very few will buy it. Even if 25% is going to charities.
You should really take a look at Humble Bundle if you really want to support charities....
Make really cheap packs and you'll sell more than you're selling from expensive ones.
Example: Sell packs of 1-3 premium days really cheap. That will work better...
Even on http://www.warchild.org.uk/donate you can donate really low amounts of money....

You cannot simply re label existing offers and call them something new. -1 for you.

Yeah, but I'm /supportive/ of this, so why do I get lectured as if I were criticizing it?

I don't like the idea of buying credits with real cash.

If those packages where only a little more rewarding... But hey - it's the Gift Shop... What else did we expect?

But supporting charity is a nice thing to do, no doubt.

nice to see you supporting a good organization. just im not going to be parting with my money because of the quantity of credits in those pacakges.

maybe if you just had a cheap package with the tet and 7 days of premium you would help more.

Nice move WG. Put up a rare tank and I'll be both a happy contributor and collector. I suspect most collectors already have the Tetrarch.

If I hadn't gotten the Lion King bundle (Lowe+Tetrarch+stuff) months ago, I would've gotten the big bundle now. But since I've already got that Tetrarch, I'm looking at the other two offers instead. Still undecided, but I don't get paid for another four days anyway :P
