Will it be 9.0 or 8.10?

So what do you think?I know everyone is talking that it will be called 9.0 but the developers can still change their mind and name it 8.10.

8.9 is a higher number than "8.10", a.k.a 8.1. Adding a zero doesnt make it a higher number. If the patch was 8.09, then 8.10 would make sense, but we're not, patches only go up to one decimal place.

Or, if you want to be nitpicky, 0.8.9 will be followed by 0.9.0

That is not really a rule. I have seen software with x.1 and x.10 versions.

Wrong, version number don't follow normal decimal system.
Major, minor, revision and build numbers can be greater than .9 and .10

9.0 (like 8.0) is going to have lots of changes (major update) so it's 8.10, 8.11 and then 9.0

Well i just learnt for a fact there is both an 8.11 and a 9.0 coming   the 9.0 has destructible environments and a totally new gaming engine

The game already has destructible environment. And i wonder where you got the part with the "totally new gaming engine" from, because that is not true. They'll still use Bigworld, even after 0.9.0.
