I believe that the T71 should not be entered into a tier 10 battle. It maybe a scout, however tier 10's are outclassing them in everyway: spotting, camo, speed, traverse etc. There is very little affect that these contribute to a tier 10 game, especially now TDs are becoming a major role in game and arty are disappearing. (who i should be spotting for).

Maybe this is the case for other tier 7 lights. Tier 9's are just fine, difficult enough, but also opportunity for them to be part of the game rather than 100% passive.

Hi there buddy, pls get your stats straight. There is no Tier X tank outclassing T71 in caming on the move, very few in mobility/agility(speed, traverse), no tank has a higher view range than 400(wait a moment, I think I saw one, help me out guys).
Sorry buddy little friend, but all your claims r wrong, or at least not quite correct. Try again please.

the only tanks that have higher viewrange are the t9 and t10 american mediums (410m and 420m)

but on all the other things .. i agree with you 100%

No, but...
Scout's should be brought down a tier match making wise. 8's should see max BT11, I see little need for a Tier 8 scout in a BT12, many of the tier 10 Mediums have both mobility, view range, armour, Hitpoints and firepower that the 8's lack.
With new TD's and alpha creep a Tier 8 in a battle tier 12 match is a liability for the team.
But to answer your question directly no a Tier 7 scout is fine in a  BT10 match.

I must agree with you, T10 are hard to play with t71.
Little hp pool doesnt help to survive. All T10 tank have 400m view range, even 410m for some.
But :
the main problem is that matchmaking is making you fall in tier 10 more offen.
According to the chart, you can get up to tier 11 games, thats means the top tiers have high chance to be tier 10.
A nice rebalance: making the chart up to tier 10. The max top tier, stay tier 10, but you would meet much less tier 10 tank.

edit:
didn't take the time to read hokum15, but his proposition was very similar

The M48 Patton has best ingame viewrange with 420, until the new WF100 comes along shortly, they'll have to share first place.

I think it shouldn't face AMX 13 90 that often. it's clearly inferior to it in almost all aspects when it comes to combat. If they meet racing towards a scouting spot, 13 90 will usually obliterate the T71.
WZ132s will also trash you around.

With the stock engine its slower then a week in jail, I constantly get spotted well before I spot anything else.

so what if u would play the chaffee in tier10 games ( i get  90% in tier 10 games)?.......u d pay to have the T71 instead....
13 90 is a tier8, wz-132 too

when facing the same tier scouts, u would kill the 13 75 fast and the wz 131 too...

t71 MM is fine.

The T71 will start to shine once you stop pressing RRR and let it Cruise to the enemy base, it is not a scout but a great flanker once tier IX-X are committed in a fight VS your IX-X allies.

Never understood what some people call scouting, drive in a swirly line across the map, spotting loads of targets but your fire support (E-100, Maus, 704's) are no were near in their position to give fire support because you rushed ahead, and the first tier 9 medium tank you meet, rapes you :/

commander Sixth sense and then just spam cammo on the crew along with anything that makes firing on the move better, wait in base for few seconds to see were the heavy machines are going, predict were they will meet the other heavies then rush ahead and find a sweet spot aprox 200M from were the fighting will happen, you will also passively scout something while waiting in your spot for your heavies, once most of the tanks have been spotted and accounted for, you wait until they are committed in the fight against you tier X's, then you can either fire from your cover if you get a good shot or move in closer, this thing has a great camo value, also on the move so don't be afraid to drive close to them, then unload in their engines or tracks, they will leave you alone because they can't risk attacking you and leaving their armor vulnerable to tier X guns.

This plan can backfire if they have a TD in a third line of engagement who will take you out if he has not been spotted, but this sure beats storming ahead only to get killed by high tier mediums.

Be prepared to be shouted at in chat for not "scouting" by the heavies, but they quickly shut up once you track the Tier X TD that has them pinned down :)

420m view range: M48A1 Patton, M60
410m view range: FV4202, FV215b, Object 263, Leopard 1, Centurion Mk 7/1, M46 Patton

Add to that an absolute ton of 400m view range tanks.

Are you actually kidding me? Seriously? Is this a rather poorly conceived troll attempt?

The T71 is capable of going through ANY tank currently in the game, and because standard ammo is APCR, it doesn't matter how far away from the target you are. Granted, if you're shooting at a Maus or E100/75 you'll need to hit weak spots.

There is nothing more satisfying than nerfing the holy crap out of some tier 10 that's caught alone, or in a bad position. I actually hate it when I'm near top tier in it
