I am bad in the VK16.02......so I think the VK16.02 is bad.... not me...it can't be me......can it?

On the one hand: Count the number of entries in Tazilon's VK16.02 Hall of Fame. So no, it isn't only you.

On the other hand. Yes. You stink in a Leopard ;-) But kudos for keeping on trying.

But on the other hand my stats keep getting worse in it, as well. I think I dropped 3% Winrate since it became Tier 5, didn't happen to me in the Luchs.

Yes I just keep on trying to do better.

I just seem to keep losing but consistently scoring in the top 3 in the team.

This tank cannot carry. And I mean At All.

In this tank, for me at least,  Persistence is Futile.

In my experience this tank is very much limited to passive scouting. There are opportunities to take flanking maneuvers, pop out, onload, retreat, but going 1 on 1 against enemy tanks usually leads straight to premature doom.

The maneuverability is way less than a Luchs or an ELC AMX, it is bigger, more sluggish, and the added armor means exactly nothing except a lucky bounce every 5-10 games, or maybe a succesful antiscout ram (or a Kamikaze - got 9 of those in about 500 games).

Carrying can only be accomplished with fires, and sharpshooter doesn't really help to get more of them. At least I didn't notice a big advantage in using it. The 1185 dpm is just pathetic, and combined with the range restrictions and the dispersion of the machine gun is imho the reason for the bad results of the tank. All other Tier 5 lights do bring a good gun to the battle field, that can reliably pen even high tier tanks.

Leopard is just bad compared to it's peers in every statistic. There is nothing it excels in. Not Winrate, Far away in damage, far away in xp, not a very good earner, worse spotter than other Tier 5 lights...

So really, having bad results in that one is just to be expected. Making it work is hard and hardly worth the effort.

Its overall nice tank but he is a weak scout, he is not good at this role. And thats the problem, its better to take similar scouts from other nation cause they better fit to they role - you know what to do with them on battlefield.

German Light line needs the SPZ-Kurz 11-2.

It should replace the Aufklärer Panther.

Much better suited as a light tank.

/case

P.S. Built in ~1500 in 1958 (pre-dating the M60, T62A is from 1961, AMX 13-90 is from 1966)

Just what we need - a scout that only goes 58 km/h and has 15mm or less armor.

Don't forget that it has only a 20mm gun...

There are only two possible historical candidates to replace AFK Panther:

1) VK 2801 Ausf B - Slightly larger variant designed to carry the HL 230 engine, 34 tons VS 28 (WG made the tank lighter than history)

2) AFK E-25 - Same hull as E-25 TD, HL 230 with frontally mounted turret and possibly 80mm frontal armor, projected weight 33 tons.

Better yet - dont replace it and give us the RU 251 in Tier VIII

That is slowly coming Tazilon, they sent Pasholok to Koblenz Museum to dig more info so hopefully whatever lack of data is holding them up will be fixed.

Why not both?

Lets replace Afk panther AND introduce RU251. Everybody wins. :)

Whatever - they've been promising it for over a year now.  The 28.01 got nerfed so they could give us the RU-251.  That was 16 months ago.  Just give us a balanced scout.  Like so many tanks in World of Tank destroyers, it was never actually produced.  It never made it past a prototype - so we really have no idea what the final performance would have been.   Anything they give us will be a guess at what the final result might have ended up as.  Wargaming, just give us a balanced tank and be done with it.

And next time you nerf a tank to make way for another, you might want to have the next tank ready to implement so you don't repeat this fiasco again.
