Does anyone except me and Kpt absolutely adore the 85's little brother, the T-34?

That 57mm Zis-4 makes the T-34 the best tier 5 medium IMHO.

Also, liek teh 85, T-34 iz veri stronk skaut!

For some reason, I found the T-34 lacking.
I think it is more because I like the versatility of the M4 Sherman (Derp) more..
Could also be my playstyle..

However, I got the T-34/85 a while ago and well.. Fanclub time!
Especially after my beloved VK36h got fubared.

The 34/85 is just awesome, even when it was'nt fully upgraded it showed me how promising it was.

Maybe KptStrzyga and other T-34/85 masters can elaborate a bit more on the crew skills they are using?

FINALLY!
http://wotreplays.co...aykin89-t-34-85
After 389 battles in this thing, I FINALLY managed to get the Mastery Badge! Had that 1st class Badge irritating me to hell & back for quite some time.
Honestly, if you look at the replay, I think you'll be as shocked as I was to see just how much camo this thing has - note that I DO have SS on the Commander - and I've only been spotted ONCE, by arty when I was hunting it.
I just couldn't believe all the shots I could take without being spotted!
What do you guys think, is this a worthy candidate to the Medium Tank Month contest?
l.e.: Yeah, just checked Kpt's replays... lol, NOPE!
Please, Kpt, show us some replays, I really wanna understand how on Earth you manage to do well in Tier 8 battles (who knows, maybe in 2 weeks I can get a 2k XP game as well  )
P.S.: I dunno, I feel that it's a bit blind and the gun is not accurate enough. Also, it's sooo sluggish until you get it up to speed.

All my best replays are here, you need to go to 2nd page to see current crew and 8.8 replays are after. http://forum.worldof...4-85-deviation/
I`ll write about crew skills later, now I am in a hurry.  :hiding:

I just trolled 2 kv1s by setting them on fire   The 85 MM gun is awesome. I get 15+ k credits profit in a won battle, and make some money even if I loose, except the situation when I rage and start firing premium ammo at everything that moves.

T34-85 = hellcat troller. i love to smash hellcats, simply load HE shell and shoot front hull, first shot(approx. 320dmg) kills some modules, or crewmembers, often sets it on fire. When opponent is not clever, he doesnt use fire ex. so you practically oneshot hellcat, it happens sometimes. Finish him with second shot before he even reloads, end of story.

Overall, I enjoy this tank. It's a T-34 with SU-85's gun and great RoF. So far, it's also my only tank with Oskin's medal. :medal:

OMG! Tried this tactic thinking "meh, HE is crap, how poorly armored can a hellcat be?" So here I am in a battle and there is a hellcat party going on. 5 on each team. Loaded HE and BANG! Killed three of them, one lost its engine and the other two blew apart. They have no chance after a shot like that. Half of the crew dies, and the engine is damaged almost every time.

Got Lehväslaiho's medal today after taking down a T69 and AT 15 in my 34/85. Was quite happy, though now need to get Oskin's (or Nichol's...).
Personally, I reckon the T-34-85 is the one of the best choices for Random Battles, just because you can try and do whatever needs doing, and I find it fairly useable on higher tier matches. I would love the T-34, but I prefer the dedicated Gunner of the '85.
I may have many fleeting romances (SU-100, Hellcat, old T-50), but the T-34-85 is my one true love...
My favourite battle today: http://wotreplays.co...e-folau-t-34-85
Not exactly my best game (understatement), but the last ditch defence worked. If you want just the best bit there's a funny conversation with about 2.30 left - was typing when arty appeared and flailed at the keyboard..
If anyone has any advice it's truly welcome :)
EDIT: If anyone wants to see an airbourne 34/85 fast forwards to about 4:40 left or so of this replay. The Jackson never knew what hit it :P

I like how this gun performs - it does not shoot only once like other tanks. Forget about alpha or reload time or anything, all you have is DPM. My T-34 does 85 average damage every 2.02 seconds (and this is WITHOUT rammer!!). When aiming circle shrinks to smallest press lmb and hold it. Gun will be working untill all your problems will go away. Rapid fire trolling. 2500 DPM unleashed. "Little brother" only looks "little".   :playing:

So with my crew approaching 100% on the second skill I'm likely to drop all the skills (for gold probably) and start from scratch, here's what I'm thinking:

Commander: BIA, Sixth Sense
Driver: BIA, Smooth Ride
Gunner: BIA, Snap Shot
Radio Op: BIA, ???
Loader, BIA, Safe Stowage

So, what should I take for Radio Op's second skills, and then what should I pick as all of their respective third skills? The only idea I had was Off Road Driving for the driver, but I have no idea what to take for the rest (don't mind dropping one or two later for perks).

imo repairs are much better than crew specified skills. You should take those as 3rd skills. But if you don't, situational awareness is a good skill for the radio guy.

Yeah, my current setup is:

6th Sense
Smooth Ride
Snap Shot
Situational Awareness
Safe Stowage

All at 100%, then camo on 93(?)% which is the main one I'm ditching for BIA. So my plan was to try and keep the others, as it's mostly about conserving accuracy and getting shots off quicker to try and counter the weak hull. Get BIA for all-round better performance, then look at what next. Repairs may be a better shout than camo as I do get annoyed by long repair times. Is it noticeable faster with 5x repairs working on it?

Yes, it helps a lot. Together with BiA and vents and a toolbox, it will be really fast. I don't have the T-34-85 yet but i'm working towards it. I think this would be my set-up:

Equipment: vents, rammer, either coated optics or GLD.

Commander: BiA, 6th sense, repair, camo
Gunner: BiA, deadeye, repair, camo
Driver: BiA, clutch braking, king of the road, repair
Radio: BiA, repair, camo, situational awareness
Loader: BiA, repair, camo, any of the other perks.. don't know if the ammorack is weak.

This is pretty much my common setup for meds. I mostly got German tanks, so i usually don't train camo on them (except lower tiers).
