Really bad timing. AMD released the R9 280X (rebadged 7970GHz) which is 80$ cheaper than the 770 in the US. Even if you don't care for AMD cards, this will result in cheaper 770s in a short while.

Now that is one sexy card! I'm looking at getting a new one myself, my old 550 GTX Ti is at the end of it's ropes, and I'm considering a GTX 760 or a Radeon 7870. decisions decisions :P!

I settled for a Asus Radeon 7970 Matrix 3gb. Only reason - it had a kickass price. It was just so much cheaper for something (close to)comparable to the gtx770
The matrix version also has some crazy overclocking potential

Yes GTX is better of course, my old Gpu was a nVidia Geforce 8800 GTS, i was very happy with that one, much more efficient and most important a lot more quiet than the Sapphire Radeon 880GTO i had before that (yes, the stone age)
