Hi all!
I am wondering what major improvements players want to see in upcoming 9.0 update. It can be anything from re-balacing some tanks, matchmaking or graphical changes. This is what I would love to see in changed in 9.0 (updated 06-12-2013):
1.Improved smoke quality (for High Extra Details Quality) from exhaust pipes. It looks like a car exhaust and it would look better and more realistic if it would be really visible I mean tanks are a lot heavier than cars aren't they? And so naturally would give out much more smoke.
2. Improve optimization - I play WoT maxed out and it's fine but sometimes I get really bad FPS lag (sometimes as low as 5 FPS even if my average is 30 FPS) and it is not my PC's fault.
3.Improve 12.8cm KwK 44 L/55 on E-75 and VK4502 Ausf. B as it looks like 10.5cm rather then 12.8cm (cosmetic-wise).  
4. Improve little graphical bugs in vehicles and maps
5. Give some better support for older graphics cards
6. (this may be added 9.0 or later) Add Historical Battle mode like in War Thunder with famous tank battles such as Kursk - players would choose what tank to play (e.g. Tiger H with 88mm L/56 or Panther with 75mm L/70) and work as a team to complete objectives for xp and cash.
7. Make separate crew sounds for Americans and British
8. Make more maps that are focused in actually war-torn areas such as Himmelsdorf
9. Add an optional background battle sounds for better war-like experience
10. Make some post-war Bundeswehr camouflage for German tanks
11. Re-do the damage done to the artillery in 8.6 - bring back the old, hated, annoying arty which surprisingly made the game more interesting.
12. Add a command button for marking the flank that is getting their butts kicked
13. Improve the gun sounds. Gun sounds so much better with Historical Gun Sounds Mod so maybe add them permanently to the game
14. Improve the engine sounds. The lower tier tanks sounds like tractors and for higher tiers weight and engine make isn't a factor sound-wise and it should be!
15. Change or at least optimize the engine. I mean I run WoT at 30 fps maxed out while I can run Battlefield 3 on majorly High with that FPS. And yeah those spikes at tense moments and forests are just annoying.
16. Add a weather option for graphics which cannot be compulsory.
17. Add some night battles. War happens all the time it doesn't matter if it's day or night. Maybe put up a shift for day/night so that it will be randomized?
18. Add a better customization for tanks. Maybe put up like machine gun somewhere or anything like this.
19. Give Clan Commanders some customization options so that they could be easily recognized on the battlefield (of course for Gold).
20. Add a smokescreen ability for Light Tanks and SPGs.
21. Introduce short (couple of hours) ban for Idle players.
22. Re-balance Tank Destroyers. There should be two types of TD's - the Sniper TD's with very low HP for their tiers, good accuracy and good penetration and Support TD's with moderate HP but unsuitable for sniping (often low penetration or lose penetration greatly at distance and weak accuracy)

This is the most important thing of all... Give us better smoke, you dont need to fix lag, mm and other things as long as we can get better smoke quality  :trollface:

What come in 9.0 and above true info

Well, a couple of Russian guys met SerB in person on a conference at Nizhny Novgorod and asked him a bunch of questions, there’s a photo in the post linked above. Some info gleaned from SerB:
- in 0.9.0 there will be more graphic improvements and possibly Japanese branch, 0.9.0 will come around New Year
- the amount of polygons on tank will be increased three times (10 thousand to 30 thousand), some vehicles will have even 50 thousand, this graphics improvement will come in 2014

- turrets being ripped off by ammorack explosions will come
- year 2014 will be a lot about graphics improvement for WoT
- there will most likely be no separate HD client
- historical battles will come, garage battles will come after them, they will come in 2014, but the concept was tried already
- spotting system will be reworked, a tank with only a tiny bit sticking out behind an obstacle will be harder to spot
- MM has not been touched
- apparently SerB was making jokes about Polish being butthurt about Stalin publicly
- roaming mechanism will not allow teamkillers and those with chatbans to use it. SerB would also like to have a winrate limit, but is afraid that this won’t make it into the mechanism
- there will be new clanwars options
- SerB confirmed optional hulls
- there will be a WoT physics rework (with Havok), destructable buildings
- WoWp will be released on 13.11.
- apparently, KV-1S will indeed be split into two: historical KV-85 will be on tier 5 with current speed/agility, on tier 6 there will be KV-85/122, with seriously nerfed speed/agility, but it will keep the 122mm gun (SS: this could be just speculation, not sure)

I don't think the OP deserves a slating for not just going over the same old problems - but that seems to be the way of this forum lately - conform and whine about the obvious things or get negged. Wonder why the old hands are leaving eh?

Personally, realistic quantities of exhaust smoke brings up a very useful point to be honest - if that innocent looking bush over there is belching out clouds of smoke, perhaps it might be worth throwing a shell or two at it in case it's not a bonfire in somebody's back garden...... :glasses:

That's a typo right? because the current sound pack doesn't sound british at all.
but yeah improvements would be nice for the game other than just [insert new tank line each patch here]
specifically optimization and fixing up that lag issue, what would be nice though is some multicore support, but i'd be happy with better optimization

This is actually something I can agree with, but it's already announced - Havok and engine optimization , they are already working on it. Try following some WoT blogs for news and stuff... i.e. for the record blog

I realy like to see a nerf on the KV-1S it can 2 shot the most of the tier 6

They have been talking about all of the above, along with increased map sizes and more since closed beta, 3 years ago; I will believe it when I see it. Until now, WG have had no competition, Serb has acted like an arse, going as far as making jokes about player concerns, and the developers have completely ignored both the EU and NA communities. Even if they make the above changes, it's likely too little, too late; WG could well be about to learn that you reap what you sow.
They are starting to realise Warthunder is a serious threat; wowp is clearly outclassed, and already dead before it gets off the ground.
The team at Warthunder were obviously paying attention to some of the problems and complaints about WOT. No rng, no health bars, proper component destruction leading to death of tank, no magical health kits, no silly spotting mechanics, proper line of sight, full physics from the outset, historic battles, garage battles, combined air and land battles, a superior graphics engine with support for much larger maps, multi core support, and that's only what has been learned prior to release, all expected next month, NOT next year.

you not the only one thinking that way palmer unfortunately mods removal (even limitation or control) seems to be a neg rep magnet,  Dont know why they dont give any advantage over vanilla. :blinky:
