My fav place is the big hall with all the tanks stored in one place when there is no event going else it's outside with tanks/halftracks driving around. This year with mil tracks the T-34-85 broke down so they took the leo 1 out of storage and used that to drive trough the serrounding forest... t'was awesome to behold that machine of awesomeness plowing trough the dirt like a rally car while the halftracks and the hetzer were all driving slowly.

BTW the IS-2 is supricingly small IRL hard to believe you can squeez 4 dudes in there.

Yes, wg, please elaborate on the connection between a tank game and a museum with real life tanks. I don't get it either. /sarcasm

Been in the museum many times. We went there regularly when I was a small child when the collection was small and still outside as it was an open air museum in the beginning. Still go there at least once a year. The actual collection of what happened in Overloon, way back in WWII is only a small part of the collection. In the large hall there is an extensive collections of vehicles that were part of the Marshall museum. There is quite a large exhibition about the Netherlands during WWII and the subsequent occupation.
My favorite is the Panther that participated in the battle and the Hetzer (and the T55, which is quite unique in itself).
Anyway the museum is really worth a visit!

Lovely museum, been there about 5 times now :)
-
As Arkhell said that event was awesome with the Leo, we went there, the 3 of us (Arkhell, Black_Gold_Saw and me) and had great fun. The T34-85 is quite a sexy machine as well in real life and they had a Hellcat and M36 there as well.
-
The Leopard 1 racing around was the highpoint though. (Here is a video I made there)

-
And it has to park of course:

-
-
We went there last year as well, Arkhell and me, and then they actually had the T34-85 driving through the forest and let me tell you, it sounded like the bit in Jurassic Park where the T-rex stomps through the forest combined with the bit from Saving Private Ryan when they hear the armoured brigade in the town near the end.
And suddenly there was this huge cloud of blue smoke drifting through the trees in the sunbeams and this T-34-85 creeps out.
Magnificent spectacle to behold ^_^

I'll try and find the video I made of the T34-85

Been there once like 5-6 years ago, but would be way more interesting to go another time. (Now I know a lot more about those vehicles and equipment so yay)
It's only like an hour driving for me :-----)

lol i was there 2, the leo almost crushed me and grandpa  :playing:  during the parking since i was also filming
though it was a shame the rides where so overpriced...
loved seeing the kettenkrad, halftrack and hetzer drive though. they also where slow because of the terrain (you might have noticed even in this game the hetzer doesnt climb steep hills fast) and because of the 70 year old engine which over heated all the time.

i recommend this museum to everyone, but make shure to bring 2 spare memory cards for your camera! we ran out so i had to use my cellphone... made over 200 pictures

they are even selling the recovery tanks... our government is nuts half our country is one big swamp and they are selling the only vehicles that can get stuff out of that mushy ground when it goes wrong.... seriously?

I've been to that musuem 3 times and have seen the panther for the first time in my life(impressed with it's size compared to the IS1/2)
It would be great if WoT/WG starts a fundraiser to restore ww2 tanks like the Panther and IS at Overloon :).

Wow, This is kinda unexpected.
But yeah WG should pay attention to the museum in Overloon its a great museum.

I actually visited it ALOT of times.
I live in the town next to Overloon (Oploo) so its only a 5min drive for me to actualy get there.

Also for the people who didnt already know. The outside part of the museumpark is now free of charge to enter and can be entered all the time.
Only the inside buildings wich contain things require a fee to enter.

Greets,
Fruttie
