Hello all,

I apologize, If i put the post in the wrong topic of the forum!

Today There was a player called : ghrdhgdrh
He spammed the chat with .... For cheap gold got to (www mmook com).

Normally I won't care to much for someone spamming the chat
But I have a feeling this might be a scam, And I don't want that my fellow tankers got ripped off.

So I wrote down his name, And the website he/she was talking about.

Is this a scam or is it legal for them to sell gold?

Regards DeAtH_SpAnk

Yep I was in a tear 1 game and the same guy popped up with get cheep gold cr*p at the stars of the game. I reported him for spam and for being a bot. When I looked at the end of the game at his stats he was new with a lot of games in very little time. Something like 250 in just one day with no kills or damage done. This is the second time I have come across a player like this. Hopefully both of them have been band.

Next time you come across someone doing this mate please report him in game and say you have done so in chat. If we all do this new players will see this scam for what it is and the guys doing it will give up trying it on.

Gold sellers use the gift shop to send you gold, paying it with stolen cards. It's not their money and didn't cost them much, so obviously they can afford to sell that gold really cheap. When the owners find out about their bank account being abused, all transactions are blocked, the banks tell WG to give the money back, then WG removes the gold from your account. If the gold balance becomes negative, your account is blocked until you pay to make up for the lost gold, while the gold seller runs away with your money

Don't buy gold from shady places.

By from WoT are almost the same, if you dont look out you do not get what you order! You must look for your self if the "tag" for WoT"tank" are there or flytag? I get in to WoT and after that come 2 more (fly and ship), why have them on same page? I pay 99 euro, and get 12000 gold, hoped for 12 million credit to, but that was for airplanes! It´s suck this! Hope some one from WoT see this and do something!!! I was  not so glad after the answer you get in WoT. They fool´d me big! For 99 euro you get 30000 gold!!!!

Tried my Tier I Otsu and indeed; loads of mmook.c0m spammers in those matches.

It seems they generate an account with a random keystroke name (something like sthdtaefh or aerggasdg) and use it to spam at new players (a vulnerable group). The spammers also don't bother to play; it seems they leave the match immediately and resume spamming with a different tank. Result; within a couple of hours they have hundreds of "battles" and very little xp ('cause if you leave a match prematurely, you get a penalty on xp).

If you have a spammer like this in your team, it means one less gun to count on in battle. So it's double annoying.

With the ease that mmook seems to generate bogus accounts (I have seen at least 5 different ones) I wonder if it's possible to stop them effectively. They don't care about xp, account shutdowns or whatever. Aiming at a playerbase of millions, even a low percentage of people who fall for this scam seems lucrative enough for them to mess up the tank teams like this. Soon these accounts will get the free Mk. VIc aswell, so they'll be able to spam a tier higher.

Unless WG comes with a solution it's probably going to be one of the annoyances (like noobs, lags, failteams, etc) tankers will have to deal with..

It's a scam.

Once spent an hour trying to do this and downloading stuff (sorry WG, I had just started), and it gave my computer several viruses.
