I´ve had this problem for several days now. When i start the launcher i get an "Warning. Failed to connect to update service. For details see log file." Error.
When i look into the log, the last entry is :
07/03/2011 20:43:19  ERROR: http request error: verb="POST" url="http://update.worldoftanks.eu/" status_code="200" error=(2)"Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.
"

The german part says "The system can´t find the specified file".

Right now i can still play because apparently my version is still the current version but with the next patch playing will probably no longer be possible.
What can i do ?

Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Right click it and make a new 'key' and name it 'RunOnce' Leave everything else.

If this doesn't work contact support@worldoftanks.eu

I already have a RunOnce key there. Should i delete the old one ?

Edit : I deleted the old one and made a new one but that didn´t change anything.
I wrote a ticket to the support.

Try doing a full client reinstall.

I did a full reinstall but nothing changed. And i got an answer from the support but i have no idea what that support-guy is telling me aside from checking my firewalls etc. But even if i switch off my firewall and virus-scanner nothing changes.

But it was possible to download the patch from the website and install it manually. The launcher is still broken but the game itself works fine now.

Funny thing, i guess i found out what it was. Can it be that the launcher is based on the Internet Explorer ?
I usually use Opera as a browser but i checked a script in IE a couple of days ago and switched it to offline modus. I never changed it back because i don´t use IE to browse but that offline setting somehow blocked the WoT Launcher (and the WoW launcher, too). Now that i switched it back to online modus all works fine again.

You are correct the Launcher does you Internet Explorer. Offline mode does block the connection :) It was my next suggestion, glad all is well, anymore problems don't hesitate to ask :)

Is WoT compatibile with Internet Explorer 9? I have it and I have update problem now. I've removed IE9, we'll see if it changed anything after restart :)

Edit: no, still connection error. Game started from launcher works, but luncher itself doesn't. It's not firewall problem, lookls exactly like some IE issue.

It should work... Please make sure offline mode is not enabled. Could you post your error message located in the python log in the game folder?
