One of the most succesful tanks ever produced, and incidentally the starter tank of the French tree.

Hopefully, even ignorant Pygmies have already heard of it, so there's no need to bother writting a long description (and yes, i'm lazy :P )

I've been wondering this morning what possible upgrades it will receive, and how it will perform against other tier 1 tanks. In particular  vs the soviet copy, the MS1.

Your thoughts gentlemen? Possible turrets, guns, engines?

That's what happens when you're getting drunk with cheap vodka :P

The MS1 has a wicked gun with the 45mm mod 1932 (ROF 24 -  pen 50  -  dam 47)  -> DPM 1128
I guess it could be balanced by the 37mm SA38 we have on the premium Hotchkiss  (ROF 30  -  pen 41  -  dam  40)   -> DPM 1200 but with lower penetration.

As newbies will want an auto-canon (i wonder why, but hey they all want auto-canons even if they're pretty useless :Smile-playing:), that could be the Hispano-Suiza HS404

Posted Image

same gun as the american 20mm M1 gun  (ROF 125  -  pen 30  -  dam 12)

For what i can see, the FT17 had a maximum armor of 22mm, where that poor MS1 has only 18mm

A Micro-MAUS, i tell you!! :D

Actually FT-17 was pretty adulterous and had kids everywhere, some taking  more after father than the others - for example Light Tank M1917 America or Fiat in Italy...

I thought "even ignorant Pygmies"© know that MS-1 was not a copy of FT17. "Freedom fighter Comrade Lenin" was.

I think the turrets will be the Berliet Turret & the standard Renault turret,as for the guns I think they should add an MG and maybe a more modernized 37mm gun.

From what i know about FT-17 was modified by french because it was a was a World War 1 tank and after that later on used by the German Army.It was also license-produced by USA (under the designation Six Ton Tank Model 1917) and after that later in Italy (under the designation Fiat 3000).FT-17 was inteded to be replaced by Renault R35  but lack of training forced the Renault FT-17 into service during the German invasion in 1940.
It had a crew of two:-commander
                     -driver

Characteristics:-lenght 4 m
                -width  1.85 m
                -height 2.1 m

Armor : 45mm

Speed (max) : 19 km/h

Weapons: -37 mm tank gun
         -8 mm machine-gun
         -75 mm howitzer
         -7,5 mm Reibel

No you've got it all wrong. MS-1 aka T-18 was a development/copy of a Renault FT-17. We change here something, something there and we don't have to pay the licence no more. It was more Russian than French but it get all concepts from them. And for the record it's useless to put the FT-17 in the game, it was an infantry tank limited to 7 kph or less in rough terrain and had little to no protection from AT fire.

Yeah, MS1 was a 2nd generation copy. the direct copy of the FT17 was the KS1, this was improved (they added suspension on the road wheels, the basic tank had none) and this became the MS1
FT-17

KS-1

Then MS1, which we already know, so no need of a picture.

Just because it's a Tier 1 doesn't mean it can be overlooked. Then all the tiers would suck up until Tier 5-6 minimum, cause you normally doesn't play that many games in those.

I think mine will have camo, binocs and spal liner.Just because i can. And then i will pwn tier 1 battles  :Smile-izmena:

It really is good to have a loltraktor/ms1 game from time to time. I think this little tank will replace both of them.
