lgfrbcsgo's Improved Lighting Mod

 

This Mod changes the lighting completely (for more details check out the screenshots below).

In this early stage there are only a few map featured, but stay tuned for more coming in the near future.

This mod is based on my original over 10000 times downloaded Improved Lighting Mod, that was also featured in many mod packs like Grumpelumpf's OMC pack.

 

Ensk

I got rid of the depressing lighting on this map. It's a lot friendlier now, that's why I call it the winter wonderland.

Where can you download it?

To simplify the uploading process I decided to share my ILM Google Drive folder with you. This will also allow you to download only certain maps instead of all.

I let you know on this thread, when there are new maps available.

Please note, that this mod is optimized for 50% gamma!

It is optimized for 50% gamma, since it is the default value and since gamma is fixed to 50% in windowed mode.

I could optimize it for any possible gamma setting, BUT I want the mod to look the same whether you're playing in full screen or in windowed mode. I am personally playing in windowed mode (with the taskbar hidden) in order to switch faster between TS and WoT, so I definitely won't optimize it for anything else than 50%. Thanks for your understanding.

 

 

FAQ

Q: How do I install this mod?

A: The installation is as simple as extracting the res_mods folder inside the .zip archive into your WoT folder.

 

Q: Does this mod have an impact on my FPS rate?

A: No, you won't lose a single FPS.

 

Q: How can I use the default loding screen background?

A: All you have to do is to delete the gui folder inside the res_mods/0.9.1 folder

 

Q: The sky is red, how can I fix it?

A: The folder called 'ILM_by_lgfrbcsgo' isn't installed properly. This folder has to be inside your res_mods/0.9.1 folder.

 

Q: Why does my game look so much different to the screenshots?

A: This mod is meant to be used with at least improved graphics on low/medium settings. 

 

Q: One or more maps are way too bright! Can you please fix this?

A: First of all make sure, that your gamma is set to 50%, since this mod is optimized for 50% gamma. If the probleme then still exists, feel free to tell me here in this thread.

 

Q: What's your nick's meaning? Did you smash your head onto your keyboard?

Updated Redshire and added some fog effects. The fog doesn't effect the visability, since it won't be rendered within the tank drawing distance (max. 500m).

My few requests is maybe doing some colder atmospheric tweaks with Airfield, El Halluf and Sand River.

Maybe trying to get the time of day closer to sundown?

The old 0.8.8 version featured a sun set on Airfield and El Hallouf was similar to Ensk featuring the early morning hours -> it is possible :great:

Hello and welcome back!

I loved your mod in previous versions, so I am sure that it will be amazing in new, polished version.

My request is to "enhance" all desert maps, because they are really boring, because of sand covering most of the land it come down to yellow and blue. They can all use some lighting modification to make them more eye attractive.

Seems like I am having to much free time. :teethhappy:

Highway features late afternoon sun. The new lighting matches with the overall colour sheme.

@ Orrie, MiroB, should I "enhance" desert maps in a similar way?

Highway looks great!

I think desert maps would look good with some early morning sun or near sunset sky.
