I'm going to need to get a new laptop for work. One of the requirements is that is should run WOT with decent fps on some average graphics settings.

What kind of GPU should I be looking for? Would something like Intel HD Graphics 4600 be adequate?

Thanks in advance for any tips you can give. I used to know all about which GPU was good and which not but that was 10 years ago =)

Hello ,
One think right now GPU dont matter , because game isnt optimized and game use only ONE Core of CPU , but soon in patch 9.0 will be added HAVOK engine which will use alot of GPU....... From WG livejournal : minimum requirement for GPU will be GTX 760

Buy a laptop with dedicated GPU, those integrated ones are not for gaming. Cpu wise even an i3 is enough. I have one of those in my notebook and it's more than enough for wot. I think something like a GT 740m should be able to give you a decent FPS on high settings with anti aliasing & post procesing turned off. I have no idea about the new graphics & havoc tho.

I would say get a work laptop for work(does your work not have computers for their employees?) and a stationary computer for games...but I am old school like that.

Make sure you have a graphics card, an average processor and 2+ GB of ram

Hi,

Thanks for the input. I have a decent enough desktop computer at home, that runs WOT nicely on medium spec.. But from time to time I find that I like to play a game or two of tanks in my laptop too. This current one (Lenovo L520) has integrated Intel HD graphics 3000, and even on lowest possible settings frame rate drops on maps with bushes and other similar trash.

Being my own boss I get to decide what computer to get, so why not get something that runs WOT as well as gets the work done :)

I can run wot (to stranded/ bottom improved) on a lenovo G580 with intel 3000 graphics but it 1 year old so new versions will be better. I get 20-25 fps and some lag (from my mods i think)

hope this helps
