Dirty rumour that most if not all of the mods won't work with the next patch.

Just asking for confirmation / denial / don't know until we try sort of comment from those who are "in the know", if possible, please?

If it is highly likely that they won't is there any chance that the "main" mod authors can get early access to attempt to adapt / recode for quick release upon the patch rollout?

Thanks for looking and I appreciate that the question may not be answerable until the rollout and things are tested, but was just wondering.

I also appreciate there has to be a large degree of trust with the coders to not do any reveals, but this could be in the form of "one strike and you're out" so next time they do NOT get early access...

Most mods break when we release a new patch :p. It tends to be temporary though until the makers adapt them to the changes we've implemented.

A lot of mods stop working every patch, until the coders update them. Its not new.

Best advice, don't rely on lots of mods.

It makes losing them for a few days every patch, and having to re-install them, much less painful.

ps. I only use one minimap mod. Easy to do without.

Yeh, I understand that and have seen it, BUT, and I can't remember where I saw it, and therefore may be completely wrong.... I gather that 8.11 will DEFINATELY cause many issues, hence my question if the mod'ers could get early access.

As I say, was just a thought and question, after all the modders put a HUGE amount of time and effort into the community too, and for the vast majority of them, for free. So, was "thinking the good thoughts" to try to help these guys out a bit is all. A bit of "show willing" by WG

Like I say, just a thought.

I use XVM, a few good features in it but only the minimap actually helps me. Don't see why this feature isn't integrated in the game though.

They always do: test server.

Yeh, I assumed that too, but the mods section is ALWAYS filled with moans and whinges etc the days or so after the patch goes live due to the issues. Like I say, was just curious and it occurred to me that it may be a nice thing for WG to do and also let the modders have a bit more time to finalise their mods.

Hell, we ALL know how much this community bitches and moans, just trying to get a little relief fro the guys who give their time to help the rest of us out, is all. :)

Do you mean modders actually complaining that test server is not a viable way to do it - or just the standard "zomg, new patch, I have to download mods again" whines by players?

That is almost entirely because people copy the old version straight over without thinking "why don't WG do this for me", then wonder why their game is broken.

Just the standard, TBH.

HomerJ - I'm a patient man and I don't want my game to break, so I simply wait for the guys to publish their working versions. Hence my asking for more "lead time" for them.

I don't use many mods but those I do use have almost always been updated by the time the server is up.

The biggest problem tends to be the forum either slows to a crawl or bombs out completely on patch day making it hard to find the new version.

@Leepants: Did you know that there are some guys creating and maintaining mod packages, like Odem Mortis oder Oldskool (and many others)?

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/276022-0810-oldskools-promod-ende/

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/227927-0810-omc-modpack-installer-last-updated-18012014/

Just follow their websites or threads in this forum and you may be sure to get a complete mod pack almost with the release of the next patch.
