Winners of the first Quest
Vallter
02 May 2011
We have received more than 800 e-mails with answers. But only 64 users filled in the questionnaire correctly. And only 7 of them, who were the fastest, will receive the prizes:
Batman
Makikou
Virtus
Guhonter
ASH7
Armitxes
mukero320
And now the correct answers on the questions:
1)VK 3001 (H)
2)The author is Bean0. 704 was added on the side of the spaceship
(the bird was a tip, that image was posted in our Twitter channel)
3)Christie Suspension System
4)Sydney Valpy Radley-Walters (born 1920)
But the same image on the European and Russian Wiki was for Pierre Billote (born 1906). And it supposed to be this tank ace. Now there is a correct (or none) image.
We beg our pardon for this technical inconvenience. Because of it the password for the next task was posted in the first message of the quest topic. But still you had to send us the name of the tank ace in the final questionnaire. We accepted both answers, Pierre Billote and Sydney Valpy Radley-Walters.
5)SU-76, SU-76M and Ferdinand. Mentioning two of three TD's guaranteed you the correct answer.
6)No, it was not mass produced.
And SerB is the Product Manager (WoT Producer) in the Wargaming.net Company.
What will be changed in the next quest?
1) We will try to integrate the quests into our portal functionality.
2) Number of questions will be increased. Difficulty of the questions will be increased.
3) The quantity of winners will be increased.
4) The Quest duration will be decreased.
5) The photo with SerB will be substituted -)
6) The Quest will be started during the EU server prime-time.
7) All servers will have different questions.
We want to thank all participants for taking part in this contest. You helped us and showed us our mistakes. We will correct them in future events.

Ahh neat \o/
I'd like it even more harder though. Something what the community has to crack together even.. you know like Valve's Potato ARG.
Edit: when do we get our gold!

Was the "system" in christie suspension mandatory? I had everything else right
I am looking forward to next quests!

Well there I was thinking "christie suspension system" cant possibly be the answer,if they are asking for the full name of the suspension system, they probably want something more specific... So I came up with "Christie vertical helicoil spring". I wonder if that was too specific
In any case, good times, look forward to the next one, so I can start with everyone else in the beginning.

Yeah! Congratulations to the winners.. 5k is much!
But was it ok to submit more than one email, since I emailed 3 times. Everytime I found a flaw in my answers.

WHAT EXACTLY do i need to type in on the second question?!?!?!?! I tried 704 and Bean0 and none of it worked....
That´s BS in my opinion, given the fact that I found the right thing and your stupid PW is slowing me down then

I have the same question as Charcharo and Thrivium. Does it matter if we made slight changes to the e-mails and then had to resend them, considering that some of the rules changed while I was finishing the quest. First you just gave us the password to was it №5 (ignoring the tank ace task), since №4 had the wrong information, and then in a later post you said we needed to write the name of the tank ace. That is why I had to resend my emails. Now that I looked at the answers, all of them match with mine and I am sure that I was amongst the first to sent it..so now, I feel a bit cheated, if the resent emails are the case.

I have 3 things to say.
1.Congratulations to the winners
2.I hope that the full list of people who got the answers right will be
posted and possibly the time it took each one to send the mail(since the start of the quest)
3.Suggestions for next quests:
-avoid using names as passwords.I wrote 'christie' instead of 'Christie' as the answer for the 3rd quizz (well like everyone who was trying to solve the puzzles i was in a rush
).This made me lose 30 mins because I tried to find another password.
-increase the number of questions and their difficulty.
-announce them a few days before they start and don't put them on Sundays when people tend to oversleep.

This. I also wasted like 30 mins trying to find another answer...

Congrats to the winners, it was an exciting competetion
As for the grievances, since (judging from the list of winners and their forum posts) I was faster than some of them (however with 'incorrect' answers), I'd just like to point few important details to look at in future quests.
The basis for getting into prize draw has to emphasized more carefully. Namely - I did not think that the final form (with questions) had any function other than to check for potential cheating and perhaps breaking of pass in last file.
In the forum topic you say "In the final archive you will find a questionnaire. Fill in and send it to prizes@worldoftanks.com to participate". It's not presented as a test/quiz or as a set of questions which have to be answered correctly (in the sense that there is a wrong and right answer) - it's presented as a questionnaire. There is a very important difference between those two things (questionnaires and quizzes), parhaps the meaning of these words was lost in translation.
Furthermore, in the final file you state that: "You have performed all the tasks successfully. The only thing left is to fill out a short application form and e-mail it to prizes@worldoftanks.com. The faster you do this, the more chances you have to win!".
Bolded text could (and did in my case) lead one to believe that finding out the passwords is the point of the game, and that I was done with the quest. You should be aware that application form is precisely that - a form through which one applies for something or makes a request, it is definitely not a quiz. Hence, i did not bother (1) to find out the name of the guy who made tanks in space pic (after trying out the obvious stug, stug3 and 3 answers, I found the answer without the original pic by carefully looking out for password-like stuff embedded in the picture linked on twitter) or (2) to check out which exact variation of 3001 family was the one developers thought of when conceiving their questions (I guessed that answer seeing a lot of variations of 3xx1 family in game). Obviously, I did not bother for spelling the suspension name correctly or fully, as I presumed that Christie would do.
So next time, please do define the goals which the participants are supposed to fulfil more clearly.
If we're supposed to find the answers to question in the 6th or 100th file as a prerequisite for entrance, it should be stated as such. A simple "In order to enter the prize dray, you must answer the following questions completely and correctly' instead of filling the 'application form' sentence would have made a world of difference.
Looking forward to next matryoshka's

mhm i found another image for task 2, where it says the author was 'Desconocido', I'll post the link.
If its not okay to post an image-link, pls put it down
http://www.fonditos....acial-02425.php
Maybe you shouldnt ask a question about the making of images, filmes etc. because they are easily stolen (see Youtube: every viral video has at least 10 copies)
congratulation to the winners
