Are you sure? It says your team has to win, not survive?

"

Scout

Detect more enemy tanks and self-propelled guns than anyone else on your team (at least 9). The achievement is granted to a player on the winning team only. If two or more players have detected an equal number of enemy vehicles, the achievement is granted to the player who has earned more XP, including additional XP provided to Premium account users. If the amount of XP is equal as well, the achievement is not granted."

Also +1 for a Friday special.

Edit: I see the mission says you have to Survive.

The topic about this on the general forums is about 5 pages long already, with the consensus being that:

1. Getting 10x Scout (and surviving) in 3 days is close to impossible.

2. Rewarding spotted damage is way more useful for a team then simply spotting a previously unspotted enemy.

3. Since most people will overlook the "survive" condition, there will be lots of suicide scouting this weekend.

Agree about all 3 points .

I've been really looking forward to this special and it's not bad. It seems a bit odd though that the premiums on discount are mostly tier 3 while the mission is tier 4 & over. A Patrol Duty mission would also have been good (as they're properly challenging whereas Scout medals are two a penny).

AND - why oh why aren't there any discounts on buying tech tree lights? I miss my VK16 Leopard (rage sold it, with full permanent camo and inscriptions after I discovered how anti-scout and horrid the new El Haluf map was). Now I want it back, but it will cost me gold for camo and crew re-training. Help with the credit cost would have been the incentive I needed.

Still, GJ WG for remembering scouts. Scout medal mission AND I must survive - time for my heavy scout T14 :-)

From a thread in the general discussion we can see that some players feel the "Spotting Means Victory" mission could be difficult to complete over the weekend.  Sadly it's not possible to change the requirements however if were to do this mission again in the future, it's likely the required amount of  "In Spot We Trust" missions could be reduced.

Our intention was to encourage players to scout properly and to avoid promoting suicide scouting (were people just rush forward to spot as many enemy as they can and then die quickly). The best scouts are ones that are still alive near/at the end of the game and can contribute to your team for spotting/detecting. It won't be until the event is finished that we would be able to see how many players complete this mission and we can see if we set the bar too high or not. It's unlikely this info would be shared with players however it will be used internally for future guidance.

As always we thank you in advance for your feedback about the special, and helping us with planning future events. We want missions to be fun and also to be a challenge and wish you all the best of luck with what ever type of vehicle you take to the battlefields this weekend.

200k credits for bombardier medal...

Creators of those missions are the same who create gift shop offers aren't they?

Edit - actually will be much harder than I thought. Like someone else said it's the tier limit - it's ok with tier 3 tanks (where it's normally a campfest) but tier 4 and up is tough. I managed to get a scout medal and survive in my Cromwell on a trial run in only 4 games of trying, but most other tanks, particularly lights with scout MM & low hp pools are going to find this hard. It's even harder for tier 4 lights when they're top tier cuz everyones running round like maniacs and spotting. Excluding Chinese tanks that I know little about, I reckon fast mid-tier mediums active scouting are the thing for this - Cromwell and if I still had them Pz3/4 & T20 (all equipped with optics, suspension, vents for maximum view range & track life and minimum weight) would be my choice. I guess also the Hellcat and E25 too (if prems are allowed).

10 scout medals in a weekend? At the time of posting I have played 10167 battles and I have received 14 scout medals. Next time you think of a special maybe look back on it again with a critical eye, because this mission is deranged. I applaud anyone who manages to complete this mission, but I doubt that even one person on the entire EU servers will be able to.

Light tanks are perhaps the most underestimated vehicles in the game. The truth is, however, that these little troopers play a bigger role in determining the outcome of a battle than you think!

Light tanks (as in scouts) are underpowered and there is no need to post propaganda about how great they are, it's just that 'no one gets it'.

10 scout medals in a weekend?!

That's impossible, you might get a few if you continually play scout tanks without taking break, but come on.... 10?

And anyway, simply spotting in a random battle is nowhere near as important as doing spotting damage, which I would like to be the focus of scout-based missions.

Specific scout tanks are criminally underpowered in the game at the moment, but I look forward to how they will be fixed in patches to come.

I'd be surprised if anyone who had a life completed this mission.

Lets see now....I have 30k+ battles

197 scout medals

5 bombardier medals

....might be a bit hard to get those missions lol. Maybe better to just kill suicide scouts.

(fix the maps if you want people playing scout tanks!)
