I'm just wondering what is the specific name of these tanks in the convoy. Recently found this image that is suppossedly taken near Simferpol, Ukraine (CNN).

Couldn't find any similar lookin' tanks in the Russian arsenal or the Ukrainian. I thought it was first the T-99^1 due to the rear mounted turret, maybe this isn't a MBT, it might be a IFV- and in that category i've got no clue about modern vehicles.

Ps. Links to sources would be nice.

1. DO not trust me on this statement.

I'm seeing what looks like an amphibious APC. It's got the upward boat-bow at the front, plus it doesn't look like an MBT just from its dimensions and proportions. Perhaps an amphibious tank of some sort maybe. It's been a while since I've gone over everything the Russian army has these days, but those would be my best guesses.

Well i guess it's not a IFV, where would the passengers/infantry sit? The turret floor is in that spot, 'cause of the traditional way to carry passengers is in the rear, right? There must be someone on this forum that knows about these things,

If you look on the 2S25 from a another angle the gun barrel is clearly too long, and the turret is clearly in the middle of the tank instead of being in the rear part of the tank. The hull design is very similar to the vehicle i'm searching for.

As the man said thats either the 122 mm Gvozdika

Or the 152 mm Akatsia

But judging by the road weels its the Gvozdika. Both are awesome SPGs.

But you were semi-wright about the IFV part, because the Gvozdika uses a modified version of the MT-LB IFV/command vehicle chassis. And thus just like it the 2S1 is amphibious.
