I'm still learning to play my T71, I love it, but I seem to get a lot of teams that think I should active scout tier 10 games...with predictable outcomes every time. I strongly suspect this is more of an "end-game" scout/tank, passive to begin, then, when the battle has left gaps, exploit that gap! get in behind the enemy line and cause havoc...or at least that's the theory, practice is another matter :-)

I'll just have to put up with the abuse of players that demand I should run up to a suspected hive of 4-5 heavies/TD and my refusal to do so at the start of a game. I mean, the T71 has no armor, and they are asking me to run into full health, fully loaded high tier players just itching for an easy kill. The best part is, those asking me to spot these hull down hidden tanks, are very rarely in any position to fire on enemy I spot !

It gets very frustrating at times. But I shall persevere.

In tierX t71 can not do properly her job as a scout (may be in malinovka and prokhorovka), in fact she has to act as an underpowered-troll medium that can be really nasty for the enemy team if ignored. More or less, kind of tier VII luchs.

It is sad what WG have done to the meta... and our dear scouts.

I really like this tank, on the maps when your allowed to do what your meant to in a scout (like 20% of the maps?) its a real beast, otherwise you just have to play as a quick medium, which this tank isn't so bad at thanks to its great gun.

Even with the horrible luck this tank has (23% win rate ftw!) i had fun driving it in most matches, sometimes you feel pretty heavily outclassed by the t10 mediums though, but that's just the life of a scout(you also seem to get ammo racked allot).

My stock grind went gun>tracks>engine, the mobility stock isn't bad at all. I use Vents, Optics, Vert stab. the fact that this is probably my favorite scout Ive played despite mm trolling me, says allot about how fun it is to drive.

I find it a very hard tank to play so far though I don't have many games in it. Gets spotted very easily compared to other LTs and the gun is highly inaccurate so far.

Maybe I need a lot of practice and definitely sixth sense :P

Great little tank I have found so far, already had a 3.5k damage game in it and still to get the engine/tracks.

Play this as a medium more than a scout, bit of early sniping then zip around annoying things.

Guys, it seems like most of the posters here are pretty successful in the T71. I am thinking of buying this little buggy back after looking at the new American lights. I sold it for some reason I can't remember.

Below are my stats for my first 267 games in it. I think I do okay, but can you give me your opinion on the way I'm playing it?

My usual style is to largely spot - camping if possible, but keeping up speed around hilltops if not - and then sniping once the rest of the team are in position. I rarely engage solo targets close-up, but aim to try and do this more often going forward.

Thanks for any advice.

Jock

Man, that is a great battle. How did you manage to score so many hits and so much damage against the Jag and the STA? Were they shots from distance, circling and flanking?

Thanks GeneralJock.

Most of my shots in this game was from a safe distance. I was chased by enemy t69, but I have managed to get away because he run into one of our tanks and get into fight, where I helped to finish him from a safe distance. I took a few shots on a ST-1 also from a safe distance, and finally managed to circle around Jag and do the most damage, even set him on fire :)

I really stared to enjoy this tank in a last 50 battles. I think I have found myself a good tactics on certain maps where I do pretty well. Still have some problems on city maps. I love Prohorovka which is great for passive spot, and I have managed to get a around 6000 spot damage on that map several time, even a patrol duty badge.
