Hi guys, at the moment I have an AMD Radeon HD 6700, which isn't the best :(

I am looking to invest in a new graphics card around the £200-£350 mark. It needs to be compatible with this stuff:

Ram: 8GB DDR3

Processer: Intel i5 2500 k 3.3 GHz

MBoard: MSI MS-7798

What is the best value for money, thanks! :)

Geforce has the potential advantage of supporting PhysX on the GPU, although some people claim that they are able to install Nvidias PhysX package on AMD Radeons, others say it doesn't (always) work (I have a Geforce so idk).

I have no idea if WoT's upcoming Havock Physics engine is supported with Nvidia's PhysX or if it's a software/CPU thing, many people claim how ever that PhysX is not really in many games at the moment and Havocks physics engine probably runs fine without it. (I think Nvidia PhysX needs to be separately/specially used together with Havocks crap, so I'm assuming at the moment it won't use PhysX in WoT as I have not hear anybody say it yet)

That said if you can get both the NVidia & AMD card at the same price, and they run both as fast the extra PhysX feature might be nice (although it might not be used), on the other hand if the Radeons look significantly better priced I would go for the Radeon.

I would get this:

ASUS GTX760

or if you can spend more

ASUS GTX770

GTX_60s are enough for comfortable playing and are reasonably priced (_ is series like here its 7). I used GTX260, now im using GTX560 (from ASUS).

Why "rebranded" card not stock Nvidia? Cards modified by manufacturers like ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac usually come with better cooling, "stats", bonuses like games and other improvements over stock construction.

Why ASUS? You get great cooling (Direct CU II), some overclock and very sexy design. Id say ASUS is best choice when it comes to GPUs, its slightly ahead of MSI and below high end Zotacs.

Radeons definitely win in low price segment, but Nvidia is much better in high end GPUs. Ex. GTX770 costs almost same as R9 280X yet is noticeably better.

What is your power supply unit? If you will have money left after buying GPU id recommend buying new PSU if its some chinese crap. Solid PSU is important as it can burn whole PC if its cheap.

You could also invest in better motherboard. Your CPU is K series which means its made to be overclocked, while your mobo is very cheap and basic model, not suitable for overclocking.

GTX760 is almost same (yet much cheaper) and GTX770 is better in every single aspect than HD 7950, but well its your choice.

I just got an ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II Top and it's awesome.

I am running it with an AMD FX-8350 @ 4 Ghz and 8 Gb of DDR3 RAM @ 1866 Mhz and I get around 50 average fps on maximum settings (including AA) at 1080p. Not sure how your clan mate gets 90 fps with an HD 7950 on max (maybe lower resolution?). I know my CPU is not the best choice for WoT, but still 40 fps difference? No way.

Still you will be able to run WoT on very high/max settings, but not with 90 fps.
