Tell you mate, go through laptops like old Radio sets, latest one is 17 inch screen Lenova dual core processor, graphics n all from ARGOS and was 379 quid. Also Currys to a Lenova about the same price, so you can pop in and have a look at them.

Fun shopping

1 1/2 years... no guarantee?

Would a repair be economic?

I would go for a desktop if I had the option to go for a replacement, then you can upgrade it as you like.

The problem is after the pc you then need to save money for a keyboard, a mouse and a monitor.

I would probably go for this.

You could simply use your tv, or an existing keyboard to save money, the most money saving is the monitor, which you could save £75 by rigging it up to your TV.

Total cost with monitor: £490.32

Total cost without monitor: £414.30

This would be a future proof way, as you could upgrade it as you had the cash.

Not only this but It would give you enough FPS on med settings.

It is a tiny bit over budget without the monitor, and a fair ways over with the monitor.

However this is with all new stuff. If you were willing to buy a used monitor, or some used stuff, you could save a lot of money, and still have a very personal, future proof machine.

However if you were going for a laptop I would recommend:

I would also get one of these:

The laptop is a tad over budget, but it gets an i5, use the turbo boost to get it up to speed while gaming. The cooling mat is the second thing to get to keep things cool, which helps FPS by maybe 10-15 frames if you are playing for enough time for the laptop to get hot.

The Laptop is refurbished, but that is how to get the best performance for the lowest price.

Cost of Laptop: £429.99

Cost of cooling mat: £16.90

To upgrade the RAM of the laptop, you can probably take the old 4gb DDR3 from your old laptop and stick it in the new one, to upgrade it to 8gb, though you have to be careful to make sure it is the same type of RAM.

[edit] also has a touch screen for instant clicking on a certain spot, perhaps that might be a game breaker in WOT, not sure...

This!

Might be worth telling us what happened with the laptop.

Some may have experience repairing them.

You can always steal one...but don't mention me when you get caught.

And I'm JKing, don't do it. Save up maybe?
