My equipment:

Rammer, Vents.

One slot free in which I use toolbox or binoculars, depending on the gun installed:

122mm --> Toolbox
85mm --> Binoculars

One problem I encountered are the frequent fires. Is it better to fill the last slot permamently or should I leave it as it is, so that I am more flexible?

I tried to like the KV-13 about 2 times and then recently went for the KV-13 with the 122, vents, rammer and...something else I can't remember.  Its a fun fun tank.  The 122 is oddly accurate for a Trollwitzer and even when you're at the bottem of the totem pole you can wallop tanks with HE rounds to damage them a fair ammount.

I've fallen for the KV-13 and i'm glad I finally have.

Yep the accuracy of the derp guns (at least on russian tanks) even had its own topic. Strange thing, when fully zoomed, they shell goes dead center very often allowing on a long range hit (stationary target) or a splash de-track with minor damage.

Oh I'm not complaining, far from it! I'm use to my 152 KV-2 rounds whanging off somewhere into low earth orbit or somewhere behind me somehow. But the 122's accurate it either seems to hit, go top right or bottom left. of the target, like ots throwing a curve ball.

Question: Do I need the tracks to mount the turret?

Looks like KV-13 might get a buff, as they will improve 85mm gun after removing 100mm from T-43 and T-34/85

'Improving' the 85BM but a 'general re-adjustment' of the KV-13. Could be good, could be bad.

I love it, really suits my playstyle, just have to hope it still will.

I've got a bad feeling about this.
I'm really surprised they're removing the 100 and 107mm guns. If the T-43 becomes forced to use the same gun as the KV-13, even if that gun is upgraded, it will just become an all-round worse tank. This makes me think the KV-13 is at risk of some bad nerfing, particularly since its gun is being buffed.

I think it just can't be badly nerfed, last time I checked it's global win ratio was rather low.

Actually bad news - Huge speed nerf - from 60 to 50 km/h
The compensation is that 85mm top gun will deal slightly more damage 180 vs 165, and will have almost invisible improvements in RoF and aim time.
But i have strong suspitions that this tank will be ruined! The high speed was critical up to now for this tank.
And now we will get another mediocre medium.

What a shame...:(
A tank driven and mastered only by a few, crippled into something belonging to the vast mediocreness...

I could understand the NERF - yes it is a NERF, not a so called  ^^ r e b a l a n c i n g ^^, if a lot of people were driving this tank because it was an easy to handle moneymaker.

BUT a lot of people do not understand how to use this tank and surrender, selling it after some battles because it is not as easy to handle and making money as eg an M4, KV-2, KV-1 etc...
So why this NERF? It is now even harder to use this tank, so fewer players will start to face the grind getting it!
But that is not the main problem!

WG diminishes the fun factor of the KV-13 a lot and that is, what concerns me most!

Though it's still the least popular tank in the game.
