The stock gun is still pathetic though...
Also the arc of fire is horrible when compared to it's predecessor.

It's still only a whopping 50 damage -.-

+1 for the 1st gun. -1 for the arc. Its better and the accuracy when moving a little your aim is better than m41 since it stabilizes much faster (5 s aiming). For huge movements (30+ degrees its slower than m41)

How to measure the arc ? Simple enough. Check both of the vehicles on the same map (could not be the same) but you need to be at a straight ground and aim for some points (straigt/diagonals) and distances Then another map with high obstacles and see how your aim is looking like when aiming covered/sloped/high/low grounds .

Strongback might be talking about the M12's traverse range, which is definitely smaller than the M41's. It bothered me until I upgraded the gun. The small traverse range is something of a non-issue when you combine an excellent aiming time with a slow RoF. I am almost always waiting on the reload, rarely on the aiming circle. Even if I could afford a GLD I would not put one on this tank. Unnecessary when I can easily traverse the thing after each shot and still be fully aimed in by the time I can fire again. I do wish I could afford a rammer, though.

It's still not a great alternative to its counterparts, but at least it's in the same ballpark. I enjoy playing with it.

I use my gold only for XP conversion (besides the 2 premium tanks I got for which I`m quite happy). Rammer and EGLD are a must for every arty. After some grind you ll get enough money. As for me the M12 is the beginning of the quality ARTY vehicles of USA tech branch.

Yet another epic evening. Doing 3 times by 6 kills one of them I was about to do 9.. but my luck changed and I left the last 3 tanks at 1% 5% and 12% M12 can easily take out Object 704 with 1-2 shots. IS and I4 are not a problem I3 is kinda tough since it has well protected turret. Ferdinand should be shot from the sides. Tigers are easy.

m41 remained at 1% after a hit right just next to him

But you can't get T92 by playing with GWP.

I played this tank in beta time and it sucked pretty bad.

Now i dont have any words for it, its amazing. Its the best tier 6 arty for sure. Almost as good as a tier 7.

The only arty so far that i got a sniper medal 10/11 shots.

The time  i was writing this i had 2450 damage per game and 50% Hit ratio.

I have a lot of experience in arties ,now and at beta ,and imo M-12 is a legend. My favourite for sure.

I had a very strange thing yesterday at ensk. I was going melee and met an IS-3. I shot at his front and took 2% of his hp, with 1200 HE damage :D
I was really surprised and don't really understand how thats possible, with a direct hit.

Besides that, it's a fine piece of artillery, but i enjoy it fully only with the second gun, which is really nice :)

If you just shot him into the thickest armor on the turret don`t wonder. It just happens.
In the opposite - yesterday i killed at Erlenberg with my M12 an IS-7 with 3 shots. 1st one was splash for 518 Hp, second one i`ve hit the engine for 1258 and the third one finished him off.

Couple of days ago i shot an M6 (tier 6 frontal armor 102)from a distance of 40m in TD mode with  M43 HE 1850 Dmg 102 pen. And guess - KABOOOOM and no damage at all :-)
This shot should just wipe out this tank :Smile-izmena::-)
but... it happens and we have to live with it  :Smile_honoring:

I still got the stock gun on the m12 (1/3 of the way to the better one) and it's quite a decent gun. It's by far better than the m41 and seems more decent than the GW Panther (at least the beta one I had, maybe it's easier to use it now than then).

I find the aiming speed really nice, reload speed decent and the overall performance really good.

Thanks for the info Karsun, so would you say it's worth going for? I was going to stop at the M41, but you're making me reconsider.. I was worried about the increased reload time for one..
