Just reloaded the game, found they took away the derp on the 2801.

Back to Ships.

It's always worth checking up on how well Tazilon is doing in his as a gauge since 9.19.  His win rates and performance stats in it are down.  I'm sure Tazilon would have adapted to it's new limitations.  I think the new changes make the tank very boring and not worth keeping.  The light tank changes are the final nail in the scout's coffin given the atrocious state of the maps.  GJ WG

Guess the reason behind WG's decision to remove derp was that u didn't really need to use gold on this tank. HE was enough. For me enough to get violet WN8 (now blue, cause recently I only played it for fun) and 3 marks on the barrel. I never used gold on it.

Still the decision seems completely unreasonable cause few ppl played this tank. It's was skill tank and fun tank. Do they really believe that thousands of players will suddenly start playing VK 28.01 and buy gold for it in bulk???

Used to be my favourite tank, mostly because of the derp. Now I'm not going to play it anymore. Too many nice memories to spoil...

Where in the world do you get this from?

The 75mm isn't as good as the 105 but it has always been adequate.  The problem is now the 28.01 is pretty much just like every other Tier VI scout (except the 12t which somehow managed to retain its own identity).

Despite the loss of the derp this is still a good scout tank.  I can pull of some pretty good games and the current gun is accurate with good pen and excellent dpm.  Currently just 2% away from 3 marking it.

Same here.

This tank is garbage now:(

Some players, however, don't seem to be able to let go...

It still functions like a 27 ton battering ram

Agreed.

I admit I hated it when they removed the Derp, but have been giving it another try of late and, I must say, it is still fun ramming high tier farty to death!

I run Spall Liner (controversial) + Controlled Impact for the driver and you are right, it's an absolute beast, especially when it's top tier.:izmena:

Luckily they beefed the pen on the regular ammo of the 75mm L48

but its useless in teambattles now

the randoms are ok with the new mm

I run vent. rammer &coated optics

Almost the same here - Vents & Optics, tough choice ditching rammer for spall-liner, but figured ramming is more fun than another fast-firing tier vi scout :)

I think this tank is still worth the play. I remember the old days before the nerf on the derp gold ammo and before they ruined the tanks traverse speed ...it was a beast in those days even killing some tier 9 heavies with it wasn't that much of a problem. Also the above mentioned ramming ability which is still there is exceptional. Afer so many nerfs i wasn't able to play it properly, trying to play it like before - running wild between enemy tanks - and my stats went to hell so I sold it and forgot abou it.

But as they introduced ranked battles few months ago I bought it and gave it a try:

  • The new gun is ok to play with perfect dpm, solid accuracy and feasible pen.
  • Scouting abilities are better then ever and it is the reason to go for this tank now. good concealment+ excelent viewrange
  • Traverse speed was probably a little buffed because the tank is now ok to speed around with, shooting on the run is out of the question unless you're circling the japaneese monters tanks

Overall I think they made the tank better to suit its role as a scout ...you just have to forgot about the old days when everyone just abused the gold derp ammo killing the game for everyone else - now it is wholly different tank even though the name remained the same.

Three marked this today and thought it was ok, definitely felt better than the Leopard at tier 5.

Out of curiosity's sake I'm sad I never got to try out the derp, but tbh I really don't think I would be using it anyway. Same with T49. The derp for me is just something I take out every now and then for the shts and giggles, but in order to have any consistency with the results I prefer a tradional gun.

you have to completly free xp the entire tank or else its unplayable in the current MM/meta.

the 5cm gun is unusable in 2+/tier8 mm. you effectively have 85 pen and over 250 meters your gold ammo has LESS pen then your standard rounds

i agree, this tank put in tier VIII or even VII battles performs very poor....
