I bought this tank few days ago just to try it and - its AWESOME !!! After selling T-34-85 and retraining, this scout acquired very experienced crew. Think its very important.

Altogether, it looks like T-34 with slightly reduced size, increased camo, extremely increased top speed (72 km/h) and acceleration, more rounded and bouncy armor. Maneuverability is also slightly better with +20% traverse speed and +20% engine power on MT-25.

Gun is ZiS 57 mm from T-34 but with 30% faster reload, accurate much more than numbers say, penetrates everything from back and from the side.

Matchmaking for this tank is not friendly at all but dont worry. When faced with tier 10 tanks, just be patient, your time will come.

Skills and perks:

6th sense, Recon, Eagle eye

Designated target, Snap shot, Camouflage

Off-road driving, Clutch breaking, Smooth ride

Situational awareness, Relaying, Camouflage

Camouflage, Repairs, (any)

Equipment: Vents, Camo net, Binocs

This tank is so smooth, so agile, so stealthy... and very bouncy for a lighty :veryhappy: Pure fun.

One advice: Dont try to spot enemy vehicles while there are some red dots on your minimap. Stay hidden and try to do passive scouting, like destroyers do. You are needed when there are NO red dots on minimap.

You're going to love it even more after patch 9.1. Apparently it may receive a buff to old T-50-2 levels. And in case you don't know that tank, check youtube. There's bound to be a few still around about the little race car.

Finally someone who appreciates this little jewel. :great:

Most players didnt overcome that their troll toy was taken away and begin to cry rivers if one mentions the MT25. I play it a lot and its my main tank and I'm quite pleased with it.

My advice for your crew: Get full camo for all crew members since its your upmost important skill. Eagle eye is fancy but actually useless for a little scout in random matches (maybe better in team games? dunno). Consider BIA as 4th.

As a scout you need to max camo, viewrange and mobility, then take the stuff that improves your endurance like repairs or firefighting (which I find quite useful in my MT), then you can train things that help you increase your damage effectivness like smooth ride or dead eye.

My setup

In terms of the announced buff I am not too optimistic because Wargamings 'improvements' are sometimes a bit weird. But if players keep whining about the MT, there will be a good buff.

Yeah, The MT-25 is a great tank. At sometimes it may seem a bit sluggish but really i use it for a passive scouting.

Here are a few of my replays where i did do rather well. Watch them if you want. I dont mind. :bush:

The only thing that i dread about this tank is when i get a city map.

city maps = no bushes

no bushes = higher chance of being spotted

higher chance of being spotted = death :(

Still love it though. Circling people is always a great way to troll

I must admit I rebought the little bugger - I used to have T-50-2 and played over 1300 games with it, and when it got replaced by MT-25 I didn't play a single game with it but ragesold it.

What I found out after 4 games (of which 3 were losses) didn't surprise me. The MT-25 is NOT as the T-50-2. The topspeed is ok, 72km/h, but it takes ages to reach it. In reality that means, if you get tracked, and repair, you are still a sitting duck because the acceleration is so bad. The gun is the same, I don't remember though was the gun depression as bad as it is now. Didn't use to think that was an issue at least.

Overall, the environment for light tanks is still very much fakked up because of the maps mostly. Please enlighten me, how do you think one should scout on one of the most fakked up maps - Pearl River?

I still play scouts now and then, I would like to play them more, but mostly I just end up on some cramped shitty shootout map when picking a scout. Needs fixing very much. But doesn't look to be happening, just check out the next Kharkov-map. Yes - ofc it is one more citymap. Frustrating. Who the fakk brought tankbattles to cities anyway? They don't belong there, not historically, and not gamewise.

MT-25 is far from T50-2m if the buff to T50-2 level I'll be happy and start playing it again.

But as it is, naaa, scouts are dead, only AMX 13 90 and perhaps  WZ132 are worth using right now.

No, it is still crap. Tier 6 LT that is an end of the line, it has terribad placement in the tech tree, it has typical terribad MM for tier 6 LT and it does not provide team with anything other tanks don't have. 50-2 was very fast at least, this one is just fast which is not enough to make it any better then lets say premium chinese tier 6 LT. Type is stronger in almost every way and has premium low running costs at the same time. MT-25 is just a huge pile of meh.

Is there anyone who's playing the test server who can share his opinion on the "new" mt-25?

No offense to the OP, he propably does not know how good the T-50-2 really was so he might mistake the MT-25 for being decent.

However, compared with the old jewel it is just a Prius standing besides a Mustang

Its pure fun, i dont have the "old one" but i have tried it on a earlier test server, think most of the T-50-2 guys would like the new one.

i m a dedicated scout player

mt-25 as a scout is in the bottom end of the tier6 scouts, it s not a bad tank but it s not good vs its counterparts. other scouts have something special that make them special, MT-25 lost the acceleration AND nimbleness  of the t-50²

i had the t-50², i kept the mt-25, i still managed to get the same WR with this tank but played more defensive, binocs (more like my german leopard)

it has a good top speed, but lack in acceleration for the OMFG ESCAPE TIME!!!! and climbing hills, full speed, it is quite responsive, but at full speed...which takes time to reach...

i didn t keep the 57mm of my old T-50² and went fot the 37mm anti scout (to kill fast other scouts, 40 shots in the clip), with the new engine, i might get it back and play it more in the attack mode as it will allow more short and fast acceleration to avoir other cannons during the contact..

i can take a MT-25 with any of my T6 scouts or the chaffee, i dont count it as a potential threat when i face it

i might take any scout T6 with the MT-25 if my 37mm land all the shots, if i avoid the amx 12t loader, if i avoid the vk2801 howitzer and if the 59-16 don t outdodge me... and if the T21 miss some shots with its fast 76mm ( like the chaffee), many IF.....but i kept this tank...cause i get underestimated a lot with it, until the 37mm ( sometimes golded) start to shoot at a fast rate because they all think it will fire a "slow" 57mm (work only as anti-scout/arty), downside is the 40sec reload...

with 100 more power....this tank will start to be a pain in the [edited]again, not that the T-50² was a damage dealer ( and was small to be harder to shoot) but speed combined with acceleration...that will be good.

I did never buy the MT-25 (I actually sold it as it was put to my garage) BUT yesterday I did a "testevening" - I was playing for 2 or more hours just the testserver. And here I did actually like the MT-25 quite a lot! The T21 was almost similar, the 59-16 was somehow not as good. But the MT-25 was just fine ... has anyone of you who still have it already tested it? Was it buffed already or was it like that all the time? As far as I did see the MT-25 in battles (not that I have seen that many) - I considered it terrible. But last night it was actually good.

All former T-50-2 commanders, did not like and will not like the future MT-25.

I've played the current (150+ matches) and the furture MT-25 (30 matches) on the CT server.

The buffs improve agility alot. IMO, it makes the vehicle more competive.

Still any former T-50-2 appling T-50-2 playstyle will fail, today and in the future.

Have a look here for more impressions: http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/394582-mt-25-changes/

Yes, thats reflects exactly my thoughts on the changes. The patch wont change the tactics for the MT, it will just emphasize some things by a bit. The buffed MT will seperate the better and the not so good players even more. Its still not a tank for troll scouting. Im ok with it.

I'm starting to like the MT-25. Super speed and decent mobility. Had some pretty funny matches in it today. Crew has no skills yet, so I gotto play it super careful for now.

This is right on! It's exactly how I play it as well since recently. I failed hard in this tank before 9.1 though.

I just started playing the MT25 prepping for the new T7, T8 russkies lights. ( i rage sold the MT25 that replaced my T50-2 after about 3 battles )

I loved the physics defying rocket motorcycle that was the T50-2 but was not so good with only 56% win.

I tried to play the MT25 as per the T50-2 useing speed and the 57mm but after 20 battles or so i found i was failing hard loseing probably 75% of all battles by getting to far fwd and haveing no way out. (the 57mm was not working for me either)

So i swapped to the 37mm auto cannon and just concetrate on spotting Anti scout and arty killing.  AP or HE does not seem to make much difference fro me.

It seems to be working win rate is up death rate is down and i do more damage.  I think the 37mm auto gun has caused a mindset change to the way i play it.

The 37mm is only usefull verses paper tanks but Its fun sneeaking up on a tank that is engaged and hitting with a hail of shells:justwait:.

another 16000 to get before i get the 40000 needed for the new T7 (hopefully thats enough).

I dont think its a keeper but time will tell.

Modules== Binocs, Net, Vent

Equip==    small repair, small first aid kit, Fire  ext.  (occasionally swapp out Fire ext for oil for more zip)

Crew

6th sense, camo

camo, snap shot

camo, off road driver

camo, awerness, repairs

camo
