Which one to get, gonna use a bit of free XP to skip to the tank so I can unlock the T-34, since there are 3 options before it which one is best?

Dont skip tanks with free exp, you will need that exp later for modules to make tier 8 and 9 tanks playable (they all suck massivly and are borderline useless stock),

Best way atm to get T-34 is the new light route of T-60/70/80, all 3 tanks are good/great for their respective tiers and can be both fun and deadly. A-20 route is just terror, I hated every single tank and they all seem very bad with A-20 being just pure PoS. T-50 is a bit better, but overall grinding with tier 4 dedicated scout sucks.

A +1 for the T-80. I went through the A-20 route as that gets scout match making. When I first started WoT as the T-60/70/80 route didn't exist back then, but since they've introduced it I've played the T-60/70/80 tanks are damn nice tanks. The T-70 and T-80 have very nice top guns for their tier and reasonably good armour for light tanks. They'll be a far better grind than any of the other routes... in my experience at least.

Both the A-20 and T-50 get scout matchmaking, so are both extremely painful to play. I personally went up the A-20 route (the very first tanks I played - baptism of fire) and played the T-50 before it felt the wrath of SerB's nerfhammer. From what I've seen it was brutally crippled in that, so is fairly useless.

I would advise not taking those scout tanks if at all possible, but haven't played the T-60/70/80 so would feel bad about preaching their merits without playing them.

At that level it's next to nothing like 3/4k XP, plus I dislike low tiers so for me it's worth it. I'm building up more and more 6/7 tanks that I really like so i'll rack up plenty of Xp from those when I'm ready to move up to 8 and beyond but that might not be for another 2k battles or so.

Looks like T80 is the best option then, thanks.

3-4k exp per tank is nothing? Ok, sure, you can play as you want, just don't come running back here that every single tier 9 is useless PoS stock and needs 50-75k exp just to take on tier 8 tanks...

Sorry but how exactly is that 3-4k XP going to help me with 75k xp?

That's like 4 average games, not really a concern in the scheme of things if my 'stock' tank grind lasts 50 games instead of 45, whereas my absolute hate of low tier is a concern.

I'm not going to waste 20 -30k of free XP to skip tier 4 or 5 tanks but a tier 2 that needs 1100 xp? yeh that matters little.

A-20 was the only tank i skip with free xp in game (and i finish all lines in game) but this was in... 7.x version with new MM A-20 is better but maybe i prefer other lights tier 4 to be played as lights.

T-50 was the little troll bug now is not the old rocket on tracks but can do his job

T-80 is not the tipical tier 4 light, is more like a tier 4 med but ranked as light and with an average gun.

You sould take T-70, best gun of T-70/T-80 and better mm than T-80. One of my favourite tanks of 3rd tier. I played A-20 but don't remember how it was in game. Good Luck and Try T-70 couse T-80 is a waste of credits :)

Grinding the A-20 now and my advice is take one of the other routes I think. Not the best and seriously under gunned in reality. It's not a good scout either with something like a 270m view range. Speed is good but it loses it when turning.

I'm actually not going to bother getting the top engine, preferring to grind to the T-34 and grind the engine there.

As another note I'm having more success using he 76mm with HE rounds. If it penetrates it does good damage. The others are just MEH

Average game in stock tier 9 is not 1k exp. And skipping few low tiers with free exp do add up, turrets are usually 20-25k, skip 5 low tiers and that is a turret for tier 9 HT, and every single one of them has garbage stock ones.

A-20 lost scout MM, it might actually be fun now. Not really keen on testing it though.
