From the latest War Thunder update

"Ground forces are now available for all players in open beta test"

Thanks for everything guys, but I'm done with WoT. I've had my fair run, I've mostly enjoyed it however in recent patches the game has turned into a chore just to make me play it, it's no longer fun with all of these invisible 800+ damage turreted TDs around. So I wish you all the best in the future.

It's not just invisible tanks, it's that Ground Forces honestly has a lot more to offer. If tanks wasn't enough, they combined it with planes.

I like the plane gameplay and the tanks just add to that, so yeah, no.

There are going to be so many player running back here. Granted WTGF looks beautiful but the realism is maddening at times. You think RNG is bad in WoT. You haven't seen anything yet.

Basically you just keep firing at tenks and hope that somethign will happen. Being oneshotted all the time is not fun either.

WoT is much more arcadish game for sure, but you have waaay more options here(much more skill involved).

There is a lot of skill involved in realistic and sim gauging distance, unless you just want to waste a lot of shots but I agree with you. You fire 3 shots for no damage, they're in the same tank and hit you once and it's game over. Distance too great to aim properly. Just hit fire repeatedly. I'll spend most of my time on WT (planes) and WoT.

Like I said, " it's no longer fun with all of these invisible 800+ damage turreted TDs around.", and "If tanks wasn't enough, they combined it with planes.". I got all these Negreps making "False claims" about a high damage HE Rhm Borsig shot (950 avg damage, got shot for 1000, surprised?)

KV-2 man. If you want to have fun seal clubbing those annoying Panzer 3s then get one of these.

Sure, module damage is amplified, but you get to see the exciting ammo racks and turrets flying off! That is something you don't see every day in WoT because ammo racks are so rare. Not to mention it's very repetitive apart from those single great games.

War Thunder looks better than World of Tanks, you do not have an HP pool, and there's no invisible tanks.

You can create custom battles with custom settings (for example: no enemy icons on the minimap), which - combined with a map such as Kursk (5x5km, if I remember correctly) and a high-velocity gun equals raw and epic fun,

the way I always wanted World of Tanks to be like.

Wargaming have great PR, but outrageously lack in the development-department - and that was the reason I left WoT after 6000+ battles, incl. Clan battles. The gameplay stayed identical, the only change was a collision system. Other than that? New tanks, same gameplay, new artillery, same gameplay.

While Gaijin are awesome developers, their PR is horrible most of the time. Communication between the devs and the community is non-existent, which is frustrating, but I rather suffer from that than from the complete lack of authenticity.

What are War Thunder's advantages? (speaking from a Simulator Battle POV)

- weather, daytime

- moving vegetation (leaves rustling in the wind, lol)

- what you can see is what you see (you may not be able to reliably shoot something at 2km with most tanks, but you sure as hell know where it is)

- real module damage with realistic effects on a tanks' performance

- not only tanks, but mobile AA, assault guns, etc.

- three difficulty settings/modes: Arcade (multiple crews, multiple vehicles, respawn), Realistic (one crew, one tank, respawn for light and medium vehicles), Simulator (same as Realistic)

- secondary guns usable soon (incl. MG and cannons, such as the T35 and the M3 Lee)

- custom battles, much better than Training battles in WoT

Of course, if you prefer quick arcade gameplay, you may stick to WoT and be happy, but I'm sure many WoT players have been waiting for a valid alternative for years.

Have fun testing it :)

The old BF games(haven't played the new ones) didn't have aim assistance either iirc, but you only need a bit of practice to always hit with the second(if not the first) shot at long distances.

I certainly have been waiting. I'm tired of the playerbase too, because are all biased to their tanks, and if a tank is OP there's nothing we can do about it. Think about it, the KV-1S nerf has been delayed for ages, and now I don't have to put up with it anymore.  The thing with War Thunder is if you're tired of playing arcade, you can switch it up to realistic, for added functionality. There is no way to escape the arcade-like gameplay of WoT.

I disagree skunkrider, I find the community on the WT forum to be very active and helpful.

Since Battlefield has infantry combat alongside tanks and aircraft the maps have to be smaller (nowhere near as big as War Thunder and smaller than WoT maps) to accommodate for this.

Well, they were big enough in 1942/Vietnam.

I honestly think there's going to be a lot of shocked players when they play GF. And not pleasantly shocked either. As for invisible tanks on WoT and not on GF think again. In sim you physically have to spot the tank. And unless you turn off the grass etc (making it look ugly) you don't see them.

It's called SIMULATOR for a reason, it's the same with ARMA and realistic games in general. Sure, there's a big change to WoT but it's worth it once you get in. Don't like GF? Then go play planes. Still don't like it? That's fine, it's just that GF is a nice change.

If you don't want invisible tanks, play Arcade, invisible tanks are pretty much non-existent.

I am checking it out for sure. See if same thing happens as IR WW2 life: Panzers getting utterly godsmacked by airpower.

Well that's told me.

I was trying to explain that you do in fact get invisible tanks but no. You've put me in my place good and proper there.

Consider me educated and throughly told.
