Not sure if this should be in a different section or not but here goes.

I am having some serious FPS issues lately and just wanted some advice or ideas as to what's going on, Firstly I will start by saying that I was running WOT using a EVGA GTX 660 SC on a 19" monitor at 1600x900 and getting about 40-60 FPS maxed out.

I have recently upgraded the system to what I consider a reasonable build but somehow my FPS has plummeted to about 25-40 FPS.

The old system was:

AMD FX8350 @4.5GHz

12Gb (3x4Gb) DDR3 1333MHz Crucial

Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Motherboard

250Gb Samsung 840 Pro SSD (system)

1Tb WD 7200RPM (gaming)

Corsair GS800 PSU

EVGA GTX 660 SC GPU

19" Generic LG flat panel monitor @ 1600x900

This was the system was that was playing everything fine and using shadowplay would even play and record at about 45FPS at worst but I just didnt like the small screen and the GPU needed some love so the machine was upgraded to;

AMD FX8350 @4.5GHz

12Gb (3x4Gb) DDR3 Crucial @ 1333MHz ---------------------------> 12Gb (3x4Gb) DDR3 Corsair Vengeance pro @ 1866MHz

Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Motherboard

250Gb Samsung 840 Pro SSD (system)

1Tb WD 7200RPM (gaming) -------------------------------------------> 1Tb WD 7200RPM (gaming) + 250Gb Samsung 840 Pro SSD (gaming)

Corsair GS800 PSU

EVGA GTX 660 SC GPU ------------------------------------------------> 3Gb EVGA GTX 780 (Overclocked) + 2Gb EVGA GTX 660 SC (Dedicated to PhysX)

19" Generic LG flat panel monitor @ 1600x900 --------------------> 27" ASUS VG278HE 144Hz @ 1920x1080 (primary+DVI) + 19" Generic LG flat panel monitor @ 1600x900 (secondary+DVI)

Playing maxed out I am getting anything between 28-60FPS depending on the situation, my only problem is that I am also running much more demanding games with 4k mods that are reaching 100+ FPS when let rip.

Is there something wrong with my setup? or am I just overestimating my configuration?

Any help would be appreciated :)

This.

BTW why did you change RAM? Seems retarded to me unless they were damaged.

Care to delve a little deeper? the GPU is capable of running 3 27" theoretically so it should have a problem with a 27" and a 19" besides I still have problems even with the secondary disabled.

As for the Ram, the original was a place holder in order to test the system after it was built, but even though it was 1333MHz it would only hit 800-900MHz under load and I wasn't happy, that and it cost next to nothing in the first place.

That's a strange one in fairness?

It's a good system you built TheUnreasonableTank and it should really eat a game as simple as WOT.

I bet you have no issues with more advanced titles you bought?

That's why I thought I would open up a thread, its just strange that it has no problem with Say Anno 2070 or Dark souls 2 maxed and recording at HD, yet I had a game yesterday in my deathstar and an IS-7 was ammo racked in front of me and I went down to about 12FPS whilst scoped.

I may try a fresh copy of windows on a spare drive and play it fresh from the SSD, was just a little miffed that the system was updated primarily for WOT since I have recently came back to playing it.

Have you tried it at a lower res? (silly question).

Is it a fresh install?

I always clear the game with revo uninstaller when a big patch comes out. Make sure there is no trace left.

Then optimise with Puran defrag and do a fresh install.

I've never had any issues with any patch? It might be something to do with my anally retentive routine?

Edit: It's also Windows 8.1, which I want to marry.

Just tried in lower res and not much of a difference really, im going to completely wipe the game tomorrow and start a fresh with no mods or packs.

I'm already on 8.1 :) someone else has advised (on another site) that I remove the 660 as it could be complicating things so I might try that tomorrow as well and see if it makes a difference.
