Does this include premium consumables?

So, biggest and most important clearly doesn't go for the special, last 2 specials were way better. I would have taken double/triple crew XP over this.

Increased incomes for the discounted tanks would have been nice, I guess.

I don't think the special matches the commemoration, but I suppose we can't complain as a player base since we have had quite a few double-xp weekends recently.

Meanwhile, the Russians get 4 cases of premium consumables for 7 kills, double crew xp for every battle (win OR lose) in Tiers 4 to 10 and 30% more credit income in the discounted tanks. You know ... the russians ... the guys that were so heavily involved in D-Day :amazed:

Oh .. and they get the discounts too.

Not impressed. Ectar had already told us indirectly that it wouldnt be an epic special... and it's not. It can only benefit those who started recenlty and it lacks the bonus income too.

Tier5 had given me a couple of millions a year ago when we had +50% or even +70% income.

50% discount on crew (re-)training

and a relative easy way to get 1 day of premium

I need only 32k XP for the M53/M55 - i will get my first tier 9 this weekend

Very good special and well matched to event. Disappointed there are no discounts on prems, especially on the E25 that I really wanted and that made such a huge contribution at D-Day ;-) And that 25% discount on equipment... that's an unpleasant turn of events that keeps repeating itself. Why no 50%!

BUT, the Tetrarch, and especially PzB2 deal, if you haven't already got a PzB2, if you can afford it you can't go wrong with that. Virtually same gold price per unit as buying the biggest gold deal going, except with a free tank that's one of the best in game and being tier 4 that only faces tops tier 4's, superb for kill / win count missions (much better than Valentine 2). And if you've already got the B2, then buying that deal will get you a free garage slot and 16,250 gold for 50 Euro's (cuz you'd get the tank value in gold), cheap as gold gets. Very tempting.

So overall really good, and I'll just keep looking out for that next E25 deal :-)

Edit - re Tetrarch, it was used on D-Day by the British airborne. So although it's the lend/lease Tetrarch, being the only Tetrarch in game it's well suited to this event. Same with PzB2, that I guess must have featured at some point in Normandy.

Edit again - and re Tetrarch was a gift and WG said would only ever be a gift, they didn't say that, they gave it as a gift and people only assumed it would never be available in any other way. And anyway it's still a gift, it's free if you buy 15k gold for 50 euro's. As far as I know, the only tanks WG have formally said will not be available in any way again are the alpha and pre-order tanks - where they specifically made that promise.

The triple XP is certainly going to help :)

Since when do we get 25% discount of equipment instead of 50%? Just wondering as I've never see this offer.

Underwhelmed for the biggest anniversary of d-day, this is no better than any other special, in many ways actually worse, so nothing to shout about.

But how can they follow up last month, with all those free garage slots, free tier 8 premium Super Pershing etc? It can't keep on unabated, it's like a tide, it comes in, it goes out, it has to in order to keep things fresh. In the month of May we had a high tide of missions, in August we'll get another high tide of missions (WG's anniversary). So June and July are bound to be a bit lower.

I very rarely get frustrated at a post sir, but what you've written here is totally unacceptable. We are a multinational office here in Paris with people from all over Europe working here, not just people from France.  Don't bring up nationalist hate and prejudice, especially in a post about D-Day commemorating people who fought against such narrow minded points of view.

Really dude, you should be apologizing for insulting French people like that. It's an outrageous thing to say and show how petty people are getting when it comes to a computer game.

It's an understandable miscomprehension considering all the tongue in cheek winding up that goes on. But if you read about the Battle of France, you'll see the French were really rather brave and their individual soldiers did really rather well. The soldiers we got off Dunkirk? Cuz the French held the line to allow us. The French we took off Dunkirk, immediately re-landed elsewhere in France so they could carry on the fight. And there were numerous cases of individual French garrisons fighting to the death or at least until they'd run out of ammo, and lots of French pilots helping us to win the Battle of Britain.

Also, if you played World of Warplanes you'd have seen the recent article about the French pilots who fought so bravely and did so outstandingly well in Russian Yaks on the Eastern front. And have you never heard of the French resistance? Allo Allo is not entirely fictional you know - there was a resistance, and some French really couldn't sing.

Well to be honest, WG didn't did their homework did they?

The argument that we had a quit good last mission and multiple multiple XP bonuses is irrelevant IMO.

This D-Day is the 70th anniversary of D-Day, and that is not something they did know only last week.

But, its a free to play game, and they provided us with new stuff, so don't look a given horse in his mouth!
