Since RL obligations forced me to take a two month brake from WOT, I returned to 9.1 version. While downloading latest patch, I was looking for my fav. mods. Usually I start with aslan's than change some things during time. This time from some reason aslan's mod and my antivirus had an argument and I was short on time, so I decided OK let's go to battle "naked".

I was expecting usual "no XVM installed crisis" where to go, what to do, who is good, who is noob, what kind of ammo are they using.......

But this time I was more concentrated on changes after two month brake, somehow I looked at game from pure technical point of view. Game after game, day after day I really enjoyed playing, somehow I had feeling some kind of burden fall of my chest. Tanks look beautiful, effects are great, players....some play better, some play like hell, but it seamed like I'm playing "normal game" again.

Do I prefer this feeling or playing like robot controlled by set of colors and numbers....? Well I'll stick with this feeling for now.

Go for it.  I had XVM installed prior to 8.11 then when the patch came I didn't re-install it.  Same goes for a hit-log mod showing the type of ammo I'd been hit by that I had before patch 9.1

Found both mods to be a distraction and felt I was concentrating more on them and less on enjoying the game because of them.  Just my view of course but for me the more vanilla the better the experience

I haven't used XV for ages....I tried now and again but rest of the changes beyond the stats annoyed me and was uninstalled after 2 battles.

Currently I run with locastan's minimap only.    The rest isn't really needed - do you honestly need to know how much damage you've done during the battle?

I don't smoke or use mods. Not bothered about my colour in a game, my aura is pure :-)

Both are useless but drugs are harder to quit.

Welcome back to the lighter side of the Force.

XVM stats cause more problems and rage than anything else.

I use Aslain's Mod Installer, but I only use the minimap mod part of XVM, zoom in/out mod (because I'm old) and the odd minor tweak ('no fog', 'progress indicator text', 'Hellenger minimal hangar' and finally 'it's a trap!' audible and visible 6th sense alert).

It's all I fell like I need.

But I enjoy smoking, so I'm not about to quit atm. (I know, I know...:hiding:)

I used XVM for a while, but the only thing it caused for me was that I got so anxious about getting killed by unicums that I only focused on evading them and inevitably ran in front of my fellow tomatoes' aim circles. The numbers and colors were also distracting me from what's actually going on in the battlefield. (I'll admit that I am kinda handicapped in that compartment, I need everything to be really plain and simple or else I can't focus.)

So not re-installing it after the update didn't bother me at all. Quitting smoking on the other hand....why would you even suggest such a thing...! ;_;

Since XVM decided to use a log-in system for stats, I have not bothered. There is another player in the house signed in and so I can't be bothered signing out and signing in to XVM every time I want a game. I don't really miss it, but it might be nice if it popped up with the colours at the END of the game....

Hey presto! A team of tomatoes. You were doomed from the moment MM compiled the team, so don't feel bad!!

I still use the rest of the mod but I use it more or less in vanilla format. One of the things I like most of all is the fact that XVM usually allows you to see games won/lost in Service Record, but they have been SO far behind with development these last two WoT patches.

COME ON, WG- Give us our games won/lost back. I can't understand for a single second why you removed it in the first place.

I have done both, currently about a month without smoking with one minor blip and I also stopped using xvm stats quite awhile ago.

Smoking is far harder to quit.

I tried xvm once, but then the .9.0 patch came.

Over 2 years a go I stopped smoking like a cold turkey. E-cig works.

I never had XVM (or any other mod what so ever) and never felt like I'm missing out on anything.
