Worst tank in the game by far. It has all the disadvantages of having thick armor yet zero of the advantages at the armor is a big [edited]joke.

Even if you do manage to get into a tier 8 game all the enemy tanks can pen you in the front by just shooting the glacis. You have speed so utilizing any kind of positional advantage is impossible as your only chance to do damage is to take the shortest route towards the enemy base.

Bought it again yesterday and sold it again after 5-6 battles. I just can't stand it....but there are good news from FTR - T28 (US TD) will be changed from the fake it is to a real project (early T95 variant from NARA archives) .

That's good news, I'm currently grinding the proto and plan to unlock the T28 via that as well as the T30 but I can't imagine a tank worse than the proto.

Some free XP may be needed.

IMO, both proto and t28 should be a bit faster... why not? E3 has 25 km/h...

How can you love a unarmored slow tank ? The only good thing about it is the RoF.

Its kinda strange, T28 is also my favourite tank (along with pershing) even though I know how inflexible and uncopetitive it is. Maybe its the look of it, like some giant insect groping its way forward with its feeler, dunno. But it has something otherwise I would not have played 1000 battles in it. :-)  Anyway the news of T95 prototype are interesting

After 120 battles of pure pain, I have decided to free exp the last 70k exp because I was literally fed up of not being able to reach 50% WR. After 120 battles, I managed to get a incredible amount of steel walls : 2. My Pz. IVS also have 2 of them, and it's armor is far from stellar except for the turret front.

Then I saw that both vehicles doesn't even have the same size, the T28 is a bit smaller. This is soooo wrong...

Hopefully, I'm now playing with the almighty T95. They will now have to aim for my cupolas .

The T28 is a POS, was good back when we had unaccurate cannons with less penetration, its not even a tier 8 version of the T95.  It has all the properties of being the worst tier 8 TD in the game.  Tank doesn't need a buff it never did, what it did need was removal from the game.

With the incoming accuracy nerf, I think these tanks will come out slightly stronger as it will be harder to hit those weakspots directly.

With all the arties around though, I can't fathom playing any of these again. I struggle enough with getting bombarded in my T95 and T30.

since 9.6 I have played a couple of matches with my T28 - could kill a Tortoise with ease on Kharkov (shot at his cupola hit 5 out of 6 times), he only managed to pen me once. I allways play the T28 offensive in citymaps, I go in with the heavies, the enemy often neglects you if they bounce a couple of times on you. Seems that 9.6 does change something to the way the T28 can be played. All matches ended up really well doing 4000 damage and being first. Maybe you should give it a new try. I am gonna play it a bit more this weekend to see if it really got some secret buff....

The cannon might be better now than it was as I remember most US cannons had a few shots that would drop or fly wild out in the recticle. Now that more shots are close to center (but less direct hits), the gun might have a better performance on average. It has a decent penetration value so...

Will have to try some of my other tanks and see how it is with the patch :)

Well overall I have noticed with patch 9.6 that I get frequent unbelievable hits placed (with every tank). On Karelia I aimed at a Leopard moving behind a rock. I was leading my aim. At the moment I did shoot the Leopard allready was behind the rock as my aim was at the rock. I did shoot and actually hit the poor thing (with the AMX 50 120). Also with my Indien I did shoot at a IS3 which was moving backwards on a ridge, he was completely gone behind the ridge when my shot went off (at least from my point of view), it penetrated. As said with the T28, 6 shots on Tortoise (150 meters), 5 penned - never experienced such a number sequential hits with that tank/canon before (with T28 I used to have much more shots landing in the dirt in front of me or even clipping through the enemy without damage). So I say give it a go with 9.6 in this tank. I got my master with the T28 really early (6th battle or so).

About all the other things said here, I agree, it is to slow, it turns very bad, gun depression is not there but somehow if you manage to get in to a good spot (the few games without skycancer) where you have good view over the battlefield you can really harm the enemy with that reload and pen/alpha. It is really satisfying when the enemy is on the winning hand and some heavies move in onto your defending position to track one or two IS3 or whatever with 400 damage and finish them off with a couple of rounds receiving several bouncing BL9 projectiles. For such instances it is more useable as the RHM as it can bounce a lot more. Such games make up for all the moments where you are killed to quick early in game without doing any harm once spotted (by skycancer or fast moving autoloading midgets MT/LT).

So it is more of a love and hate relationship with this tank. Sometimes surprisingly good, sometime extremely worse. I will grind through it, I still like the grind, I am at 100.000 exp now on my way to the T95, which what I read about it possibly will bring the same gameplay.

About the skycancer thing, I still have hope that someday the game will evolve in a way that I do not have to call it skycancer anymore. With 4 or 5 of them things on each side (more often these days) even at T10 such battles are frustrating when you drive big, slow HT or TD on maps that allmost give no cover at all (often 3 HT are hiding behind a small rock where there is room for one).

well just bought it. Had the T28 prot and grinded the T28 and T30 with it. Long, painful, frustrating games but the frontal armour does bounce a lot.

Stuck my 3 skill crew in it, fully upgraded it and took it out. First battle had  5 x arta on each side :( on Artic - DOOMED/

Went to play as a heavy as they had none. Saw a KV-13 and IS-3 get clicked but i just sat back out of VR and sniped at Ferdi and JgTig. Not much damage, just thankfull of arta missing me four times.

Seems very simialr to Prot but without turret. I got 100k in Free exp but guess i will be doing loads of SH
