Self-destruct penalty!?

Have anyone actually tried to self-destruct through using HE-shells and by such means destroy yourself when you're at death's door?
I've actually done it as arty by ramming the tank into another one and then fire (no escape anyway) however I recieved no penalty at all which cause me to ask...

Is this intended or not? is it supposed to be so that you can use a out of the jail card and deny the opponent any credit at all? You don't even recieve a leave or -1 for killing yourself!

What's your opinions about this and am I overreacting?

Can pretty much happen only with arty. And if someone lets arty do that to himself then he clearly was asking no credits  :Smile-izmena:

With other gear the exp lost/damage inflicted on self isnt that great.

Do you really lose xp or such when you detonate yourself that way? What if you did it when only 1 shell is available before death and it's a clean hit aswell. I for one haven't experienced any major exp loss or such when that've occured.

This is something WG is working on, an idea is: When someone exits battle their tank is left in the battle and of course they gain no credits or experience.

I didn't mean such a self-destruct which you probably thinks of. I mean when you blow yourself up with some HE shell (most likely to occur in close-combat if at any place at all).

Would be good, coz I see more and more people leaving to not let the enemy kill them (or even better, not let the enemy get some achievments - beginning with top gun, ending with fadins, whitmans etc etc).

Would be good to mark his name for his team - lets say red (white for living, grey for KIAs and red for quiters). So you wont wonder,  why the maus on your left isnt doing something...

You pay for dmg repair and you pay for ammo costs.
You dont get any benefit for making DMG to your own tank..
That is the penalty.

nope SU/ISU/Object and KV can blow themselves up with the 152HE if they are close enough to the target. (yes i killed 3 crewmembers and my gun when i rammed into and shot an IS-7 at teh saem time with my SU-152 ML-20 :) )

I actually commited suicide by using the 10,5cm with HE, shot a tank right in front of me and blew myself up due to the blast radius :lol:

I assume you'll have some timer for this? Yesterday I disconnected right at the start of the game (was still in the "list tanks and show map" stage) and took me ages to return...

Also, will you start counting from 0sec? Or a bit latter? Quite a few scouts don't last more than 1mn in battle...
