So I take out my MT-25 again. Game is tier 8 Ensk (again city map). I go spot line 6. Get about 800 spot dmg. Enemy IS-3 and KV-1S go on a retard rush through the mid. I obviously have to shoot at the KV-1S and yay, I lit him on fire. I'm gonna take him out easy. Oh wait, makes the one shot at me which I should easily be able to take. Oh wait, he lights me up and I die.

Fu-*cking MT-25. Now I remember. It's the one god damn co-ck sucking piece of cr-ap light tank that actually DOES SUFFER FROM MODULE DAMAGE.

How unfortunate is that.

It's fu-*cking hopeless. I swapped basic T-50-2 gear (governor) to fire extinquisher and now run with repair kit and noob-helper (rations).  I'm at tier 8. Airfield. I first use mid to spot the ding out of enemy team. Enemies not in mid I see.  Stronk deduction is that I should then scout B-line. I spot stronk tenks there. I shoot through bushes at KV-5. Stronk KV-5 viewrange spots me. I dodge stronkly. And that's it. There's nothing more. It can't fu-'cking bush-rape even the most blind tanks in the game. Hopeless junk. At least with Luchs/Leo you can get close and tickle the enemy to death.

@Juti_5

The number one LT rule is: Do not get hit!

The number two LT rule is: Use a good crew!

Maybe I could have a look at some of your MT-25 replays.

I'm asking, becasue I susspect the problem to be at the keyboard, rather than the vehicle.

Remember the MT-25 is not a T-50-2, hence it requires different gameplay!

:honoring:

Seeing how the MT-25 works now, I can see that I wouldn't have liked the T-50-2. Yes, I said that as a light tank player.

Low view range and weak gun combined with extreme mobility and speed forces this tank into active scouting only and pretty much nothing else. I am excluding scout and artillery hunting, since this is something that every light tanks can do and does anyway.

Self defense and causing chaos with damage is next to impossible, so tougher tanks (like the KV-4) can ignore you. Later a medium might take you out, without you distracting the right tanks. That is if the enemy knows your tank and is not hungry for frags, but you can't always rely on that to apply in the current battle. "But you can flank and stuff!" And then what? Your enemy will be moving, your gun will have problems penetrating the rare and will do little damage, also other enemy tanks will probably come to help, before you manage to do much.

In order to scout, you have to get closer to the enemy, doing dangerous maneuvers, making you easier to hit. You have to stay in the open for less time, keeping the enemies spotted for shorter periods of time making you less useful. You can't passive scout much because of low view range. Yes, you can extend it with skills and equipment, but other tanks can do that too and scout more ground with less movement anyway.

Of course, the mobility and speed make this tank pretty damn enjoyable to drive. Even if you fail doing that dangerous maneuver, you will have had at least some fun before dieing and might be able to troll a lonely tank.

My problem with this tank is that it can fulfill only one role, unlike other light tanks - many can scout and fight. I had a similar problem with the 59-16, that can only passive scout with its great 390m view range. The T37 can passive scout and fight and the T21 (although its abilities are limited) can do that too.

If the old light tank match making was still used, even the current Chaffe would have been able to make much better passive AND better active scouting than the MT-25 would. The Chaffe can keep its distance while moving with its maximum speed, making it a harder to hit, or just stay in a bush seeing enemies sooner. While the MT-25 will have to keep moving at almost all times, the Chaffe will be able to take it slow and at one point move fast or vice-versa.

I am not enjoying the MT-25 as much as I would like, but it is not a bad tank at all (despite all I said so far), there are just tanks that can fulfill more roles and thus do more.

I personnaly enjoy more the MT-25 than the Chaffee (but not many battles with chaffee). I use it at full speed all the battle, and it's pretty hard to hit that way, if you stay your side of the hill.

Passive scouting is not for me, and this tank is way too big to do it. And you will have hard time, being outspoted by enemy team. Better stay in their nose and spot them while they try to hit you.

And really ... where is the fun to passive scouting ? I take the T28 prot when I want to sleep.

To be noted that this tank is pretty hard to detrack with jumps, you can go almost everywhere at full speed, jumping here and there ;)

[ I must be alone not crying after the T50-2, but I felt it was a bit too fast to be manageable. Even if maybe now I will change my mind, I was young at that time ;) ]

MT-25 is ridiculously UP compared to T37. It's not even funny.

98 pen with no gun depression vs 150 with epic depression.

It really feels like hardcore mode.

Good speed, good view range (for the blind russian tank genre), but the pew pew gun feels like I'm wafting warm farts towards the enemy team, it's not going to hurt anybody and it just stinks. I feel this is going to be a hell of a grind to the Lttb as the win rate after a few games has not been kind

It not that great at scouting. But it can circle tanks to dead like no other tank in the game! Of all the scouts I played so far, no other scout can drive circles as fast as this tank! Most scouts can circle heavies to dead, but with the MT-25 you can even circle some mediums to dead! Just finished the grind yesterday and it was one of the most pleasant grinds I did recently. Just stay away from other lights and don't try to trade shoots because with 85 alpha damage that's never worth it. I played it like a vulture, preserve HP at the start and wait to catch some pray that left it's herd^^

Circle of dead + APCR when needed and this tank is a monster. Oh, and the expected WN8 damage values are ridiculously low!

I have no idea how to make this tank work. I know you are supposed to actively scout, but its so monstrously big that I find hard time doing just that. I guess I could try to rush and passive scout, but the view range isn't that great. Also this gun is just awful as you can't pen some of the enemies with gold from anywhere. How can you provide a distraction if the enemy just doesn't care about your gun. Also sacrificing yourself for that one moment that randoms can push threw a flank... well that is a bad deal on any tank.

I want to play LTTB and T-54 LT, but this looks like a major roadblock of a tank for me. if it had a gun that could at least pen side armor of tanks reliably id probs try this line. but it looks horrible.

Rly new to it (and so worst moments happen more often than the good ones), but the insame Speed and Mobility force the MT-25 into a 'don´t-stop-moving-Role'

Running it with Vents, Optics, Binos and 57mm Zis-4 (low Alpha, so ... don´t stop moving :izmena:)
