Why do so  many moderators not first warn & then perma ban ?

Why are there so many unnecessary bans ?

WG/ESL has Perma Chat Banned me for saying:

    "I'm listening too: Joy Division-Substance-Novelty.mp3"

in the Twitch WGLEU Channel, and if you write a ticket about it WG will simply tell you that WGs Twitch streams ARE NOT OWNED BY WG and you are forced to make an acount with ESL whose mods do not react back to you, I'm going to keep posting about this until it is resolved.

(Info for people who do not know Joy Division:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Substance_%28Joy_Division_album%29

Sold in the USA by Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Substance-Joy-Division/dp/B000002LEU

Sold in the EU by Bertelsman Online (BOL): http://www.bol.com/nl/p/substance-1977-1980/1000004000037386/ )

No I'm not spamming commercials for Amazon & BOL it's is just to show that this is normal music.

I have now been perma banned for 5 days,

I owned the biggest & fastest "Day of Defeat" server from the Netherlands one time, 27 people "Gokkast.tk"

I instructed my mods to always give warnings to people before banning, this vital step of warning before serving out a ban seems to be omitted nowadays in commercial chats, mods just will ban you for stuff that is not a bannable offence in the first place, and do this without a warning.

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN ???? People can not pm you any more ???? Mods have no time to do this ????

And if they have no time, why not simply use more mods ? So that this vital step is not omitted and you not turn normal chat-law abiding chatizens in to raging angry people whose fun in watching a stream is being ruined!

It's not a perma-ban.....as you say it's five days.

I was unsure of why you were banned in your last topic about this issue.

But if you look here...http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/983016-twitch-rules-of-conduct at the bottom of the page under the heading 'Non-gaming content' and under 'DMCA Suspensions'...that's why.

Don't keep posting about this....it will be over anyway in five days.

Lol no it will not be over in 5 days, i have now been Permanently Banned for 5 days, and if the ban is not lifted it will be permanent.

Why do I write about this ?

To show that you do not get friendly & happy customers when you do stuff like this to them.

I want to show that I'm very unhappy with how stuff is handled.

You just structured your sentence badly. I understand this is not your first language......so sorry about that misunderstanding.

According to Twitch rules the only way to undo the ban is to contact the streamers and they are not on this forum.

Perhaps PM Mr_Kubrick as he knows more staff than anyone else and has met most of the streamers as he attends many events.

I have contacted the Twitch mod, no reaction yet.

I have contacted ESL no reaction yet.

But what frustrates me is that a channel that is all dressed up as being WG, who broadcast stuff only from WG, is something WG 'pretends' to be not their concern or have no influence over.

In reality they do care though, because I'm sure that when the channel starts to broadcast advertisements for Kiddiporn, that WG will intervene. I'm simply not important enough to WG, to do something, and as a consequence as the Dutch verb goes "Send from the little closet to the wall" (from the pilar to the post says google translation, maybe that's the English style of the verb).

You just feel like your getting toyed with, companies just send you from one thing to the next and they all put the blame on each other.

Twitch hosts the service, Twitch makes the rules, Twitch is responsible for chat moderation. You fail to understand that Wargaming has NOTHING to do with Twitch chat or any other Twitch service. They are merely a user, just like you. Learn how the world works.

For comparison: Complaining to WG in this situation would be the same as complaining to Microsoft Support that you iPhone doesn't work.

+ by using the Twitch service, you have accepted the Twitch Terms of Service here: http://www.twitch.tv/user/legal?page=terms_of_service

In other words, you've signed a binding contract between you and Twitch. Follow it, or face the consequences.

Firstly, 5 days isn't really a perma-ban. Permanent would mean you were banned permanently. Forever.

Secondly, what you're posting in itself wasn't offensive. Not at all. Joy Division are actually pretty cool tbh. But then that's not the issue.

Looking at that, I'd have banned you too. Here would be my reasoning.

1. How is this information relevant to the stream chat, unless there was a contest surrounding the music you're listening to. Or if someone asked.

2. Unless you're using a script to print this message every time the track changes... why on earth would you include the .mp3 part to the sentence?

2a. scripts like this are extremely infuriating to everyone that ever lived. Ever.

So... just really think about this. The moderators have a hard time enough trying to keep things in chat calm without having to deal with auto-typers and the like.

Final note. It's 5 days. We don't have streams every day of the week. It'll have expired by the time you visit our channel again. Besides, let's be completely honest here - much like YouTube comments, Twitch chat is a place where text goes to die. Horrifically.

This thread again? Again, this isn't about your choice in music. Nobody gives a crap about what you listen to or when you listen to it. How about not posting what you're listening to, especially in a format that makes it look like you're using a script? :sceptic:

You misunderstood him just like I did. What he means is that he is 5 days into his perma-ban with no reply for the Twitch mods.

I know what you feel bro...the other day i was sitting in my TORKEL swiver chair(only £34.90 from IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/...ducts/50212486/), watchin' a stream (on Twitch.tv), havin' a Bud Heineken and listening to my favourite Sabaton album(bought it from amazon for $11.48 http://www.amazon.co...tt_mus_ep_dpi_7) when suddenly my Samsung Galaxy S5 started ringin'...so i told chat that i'm going to be afk for the next 2 minutes, because i have to talk on my Galaxy.

And i got permabanned for 2 days for saying that!!!!! This is such a bullcrap. Moderators suck!

They don't care about us, people, just sitting in their office and watching kiddiepron on their iPhone.

Don't worry OP, i'm totally with you, so i've created #FreeAezizOrRiot. Soon we will have millions of follows/retweets. With the power of hashtags we will bring those corporate bastards to their knees!

Edit: i forgot to mention that i own the biggest and longest [edited]in Hungary, so i know what am i talking about.

Well that makes a little more sense! Yea, the sentence read differently, but not to worry.

The policy shouldn't be to permanently ban on site, but to give temporary. This is what I thought was meant by the OP - which would have been a fair one. Permanent ban (ie. with the /ban command) is a different story. Drop me a PM with the twitch username and I'll see what can be done.

Thanks,

-Dak

You got perma banned for using a script to post the music you are listening to. Much as people used to do when irc was the de rigeur social chat medium. Just as back then as it is now it is annoying and unecessary. A tad harsh (especially if there were no warnings) but posting about it in the forums will achieve nothing other than a bit of leg pulling (as you have found out).

Oh and google translate actually appears to have got something right for the first time in its history ("from pilar to post") that in itself is something this thread was worth creating for!

WGLNA perm banned me last year for talking to new players about tank lines - don't expect twitch channel mods to be very nice

Anyone else remember the QSF VS RSOP thing? (watch QB's stream, and Willkey's stream at the same time, mods would ban you from QB's stream just for sitting in Willkey's - GG mods)

Just think of Twitch Channel Moderator as a position of power for many of the tomatos who play this game... anyone they don't like the look of, or don't agree with; permanently muted via banhammer... If you want to get back at them, grab yourself AdBlock and content yourself with the fact that they aren't making money off of you.

First of all I didn't use a script to post the music, I simply copy pasted the file name from Rhythmbox the mp3 player I'm using in Linux.

Second I only did one post, I did not spam the channel with mp3 name after mp3 name.

Third if you want to permanently ban people, you can warn them first, something I have instructed my mods on my server to do.

If the mod had simply warned me, I could have explained everything like I have explained stuff in this post, and then probably he/she would not have banned me.

Instead nowadays mods just perma ban you without warning and leave you with the mess, I'm going to bet the mod who perma banned me will not even know he did anything wrong even if I get unbanned, as they simply ignore people.

Here a picture of what it looks like to be permanently banned :')

Spoiler

& thanks for the life line Dakiras, I sended you a PM.

/-- Edit  --/

By the way, all though you can argue that mods are right to ban any one who doesn't talk  about the exact WG content being streamed, I have heard enough times people saying that they are playing their own music instead of listening to the Twitch stream and or asking what music is being played in the Twitch stream.

It didn't give me the impression that talking about music was a bannable offence, I guess I was wrong :)

I can imagine that the way I formatted my sentence might make it look like it's some sort of script, but it isn't.

That said a script could simply remove .mp3, replace - & _ with spaces, and or randomize sentence formats.

So how ever you say it, it will look like a script. In the end a script mimics human writing.
