The problem with a word like turd is that it does not translate well. English is a funny language. We have multiple words that seem to have the same use. Words that most other lounges don't have the ability to translate exactly as intended. So take French, turd will translate into sh*t in French. Or it will be translated into manure. So as you see the word is changed in both use and form and there for meaning.

Remember English has about 1,500,000 words, if you miss out slag and scientific words, and another million plus all up. Almost nothing has a single word for it in English and this is almost unique to English. It is the reason why English is so commonly used. That and the fact that we don't give a hoot the way you say it. As long as we get what you are saying. But on the flip side it makes non-queens English an right bigger to translate clearly into other languages.

So turd is not offensive to us, native English speakers. But it is offensive to others that have to translate it. If you do not wish to be offensive try using the word trod. It still means turd but it is middle English and can not be translated over to other languages. Or you could try folit, muck, crud, sod...

I got home from work today to see that WG have changed my clan name and emblem from TURD (Terminally Unstable & Relatively Dangerous).

Is TURD really an offensive word or are WG living in the 1930's? Where I'm from, this day and age I hear a lot more offensive words than TURD come out of the mouths of 3 year old's.

I could understand if we had used actual swearing or foul language but......TURD........really?

Next they'll be banning clans with the name POOP or PLOP.

I think this game is slowly being aimed at the younger generations and soon CW is gonna be battled out by teams full of 5 year old's.

GJ WG!

Poll added. I want my TURD back!!

If they add another d to it(sodd) they can claim it is a norwegian meal(more or less "tiny meat ball",carrot and potato soup).
