I think I'm beginning to get to grips with it from the last 3 battles (mind you two were defeats).   Seems to spend a lot of time killing tier 8 heavies :izmena:

And who said Erlenberg was hopless for scouts.  Still not got 6th sense - 96% atm.

Marks of Excellence say nothing about a tank... only your performance in it compared to other players. Same as Mastery badges. That said, I'll agree that it isn't crap.

I have to admit that I am struggling in it

In chaffee I had a real blast. I could passive spot everything. Having a coffee at camping maps and doing a M badge:trollface:

T37 I have to change my playstyle. The camo seems a lot worse. How does it compare to chaffee? Is it to be played more aggressively?

Every tip is welcome:sad:

I struggled alot as well... WR of 25%.... but it was mainly when grinding modules.. now that i have elited it it feels much better... at first engine power wasnt enough to pull you out of dangerous spots.. top gun is much better too.. ( not the autoloader one)

Unless you haven't unlocked all modules i suggest you concentrate on passive scouting.. spot for others and hope your team mates can pull their weight. when you have elited the tank you can become more aggresive..

My winrate increased to around 35% and i have much better games in it. even if we lose i am other in top5 tanks in the game.. damaging T8 tanks with a T6 light tank brings you lots of xp..

Hi guys, I am hoping for some tips. I'm new to scouting and actually really enjoy my M24 (new) Chaffee. I have just got the T37 & am seriously struggling. Not least because Ive got to grind the modules, but mainly because I seem to keep getting thrown to the sharks in tier 9 battles. I probably misunderstood that all tanks were +2 tiers now. In a Tier 8 I could cope, but a Tier 9 when you've got the life expectancy  of a may fly with a suicide pact just isn't funny. So far i have the 2nd gun 137 pen & the Suspension.

Would love some idea of the best way to go... thanks in advance...

2nd gun is decent, so you'd be better off upgrading the other parts of your tank. Tracks and engine are the most important imo.

Go to WoT replays and looks for good battles on every map and watch them. See what the players do and try to follow suite. This tank requires good situational awareness.

I personally forward bush camp(map permitting) for the first few minutes and try to spot as many of the red team as possible, with a few shots fired if possible. Then once the match has unfolded and both sides are more or less committed, then you try to find a gap and start unleashing the powah of the T37!

Patience, map and situational awareness are the key points that you need in order to make this tank work. But Damn! It's very rewarding!

while i'm not a very good player i do have a mark of excellence and have aced this tank.

i think the best way to play it is like a medium.

conserve your hp early on by acting as a passive scout (when possible), look for opportunistic shots on sides/backs of enemies and keep moving. harass the enemies and wait for the end-game where you will be the ace in the sleeve.

this little beast thrives when there are just a few opponents left.

a lonely heavy is a sure victim no matter if it is tier 7 or 9. a turretless td? perfect for you. arties? the favourite victims.

just remember to always keep moving.

coated optics, vstab, vents, and i'm using the top gun (non-autoloader).

I cant say I like this vehicle very much. But its required for skirmishishes so I keep improving the crew (ie need more camorating).

Mystically the tank has started to work for me quite well. ~100gpl  wr:60% - I like to win (who doesn't?) so I must give it a little respect.

What I dont like about this tank is:

the size - especially the turret gets hit when trying to peek and spot.

and mobility - sure it goes good speed, but accelerates slowly and is sluggish on turns

on plus note:

the gun makes 7-9 mm more tolerable than other t6 lights

as said the speed is nice

tier 6 lights are just uninspiring across the board. And in the company of MT-25, AMX 12t, 59-16, VK28.01 this T37 seems like a godsent :-)

I try and break light play down into some simple categories.  Keeping the tank alive, keeping an eye on the game and the most important one is knowing when to hold your nerve and when to switch to a more aggressive stance.  Others will play differently and indeed better than me, but it is all I can offer!  In reality you can apply these statements to all tanks, but with lights if you make a mistake you are in big trouble.

I base this on the assumption you have Sixth Sense on your commander.  If you don’t make sure you get it ASAP.

Safety

Spotting/firing positions need an area you can retreat to quickly.

Assume if you fire you are going to be spotted and start to retreat.  Not spotted, move back.

Don’t go back to the same spot if you have been spotted.   Guns will now be pointed ready.  Those top tier tanks love shooting squishy scouts.

Observe

What is your team make up?  If you have lots of slow heavies then you may well be spotting for no-one for a while.

What is opposition team make up?  If it is lots of slow heavies then you can take a more advanced position.

What is going to be my first contact?  You are going to have serious problems if it is a T71, but an ELC or T50 and you can take them on

Where am I going to go?  Ping the mini map (not spam) in the countdown.  I ping where I am going then ping where I hope to spot enemy tanks (about 3 squares).

How is the game developing?  Ensure you keep glancing at the minimap.  If no one is in a position to help……you will get no help.

Timing

This is critical to taking your play to next level.   Knowing when to go aggressive and when not to is a bit of an art, but there is also some luck involved.

Is a flank stalling because it is pinned?  Help spot what is pinning them.  Remembering to preserve your safety it is pointless you throwing your tank away.

Is there an opportunity to flank safely?  Move and help put the damage in to distracted tanks.

Is there an opportunity to find the arty? Everyone loves killing artillery!

If your team is rolling the opposition then you need to start becoming more aggressive to take advantage.

Use the pre battle time to answer those questions you can.  Early game spot, anti-scout and preserve your health.  Mid game you can start to become a pseudo medium by distracting and flanking.  End game…mop up wounded tanks and enjoy.

Exactly!

There has been a lot of games where I do a lot of good spotting in some of my scout vehicles, but no shots are fired as my team camps in spots where they can't do anything... until they get rolled over. It's a problem with a lot of the playerbase as they don't seem to get that they are useless in some positions.

The tank is great though.

This tank is one of the best tier 6 tanks. The reload time is good and the damage per minute is more than decent for a light tank. It also has a good speed and the armor is...good. Not the best, but the tank is mobile and the armor don't counts very much if you know how to play with it.

Getting really bad series of losing in this tank despite I'm trying to play as a small med-scout-skirmisher like old Chaf. I think this tank needs different play style because it's big and accelerate slower then other scouts. Wish me luck in the future, I still think this tank rocks because we do well with it in skirmishes
